This 1979 Fiat 2000 Spider has the unmistakable styling of Pininfarina! These little sports cars are great fun, they have a peppy 2L inline 4 cylinder and when compared to the MGs of the same time period are opulent and more powerful. This is a good running example of these cars with a very clean undercarriage, nice interior, and new top! The mechanicals on this car are very good, it was driven two hours to our shop and runs and drives excellent. She starts right up and idles nicely, ease the shifter to put it into gear and off you go down the road. The transmission shifts nicely and the brakes work well. Overall the major systems function as they should and the upgraded radio sounds nice. The interior on this car is in excellent condition. The seats are comfortable to sit in and in very good condition. The carpet is in good shape, the dash has no cracks, and the steering wheel is also very good. The headliner, and touchable items are all in very good condition and feel good. The convertible top is brand new, just installed and it looks terrific. The body on this car is in overall excellent condition. The frame, the pans, the trunk, the rockers are all very clean. Overall this car is in very good shape, with only the minor nicks that come with time. The paint is ok, not great, but could use a good buff. There are some small holes on the fender and minor rust spots that can be fixed this winter. For now we would do some very minor fixing and simply enjoy it for the summer, maybe think about minor panel work and Red Paint this winter. Red over the tan would look stunning, with this undercarriage and the mechanicals she would be worth putting the money into as it would provide a good return in fun and would be dazzling.
