first-generation body lines, chrome exterior trim, and
performance-oriented appearance give this Camaro the unmistakable
presence associated with Chevrolet's early muscle-car era.
Under the hood is a 427 CID V8 paired with a 4-speed manual
transmission. A Hurst shifter handles gear changes, putting the
big-block power through a traditional manual drivetrain and adding
another performance-focused touch inside the cabin.
The Camaro is equipped with power steering along with front disc
brakes and rear drums. This combination adds assisted steering and
the stopping capability of front discs while retaining a
traditional rear drum setup.
Inside, the Black interior keeps things appropriately
straightforward for a late-1960s muscle car. An AM radio provides a
period-style touch, while the Hurst shifter complements the 4-speed

The car's factory identification provides some additional
background on its production. The Fisher Body cowl tag identifies
Norwood, Ohio as the body assembly plant and carries a 05C build
date, corresponding to the third week of May 1968. The VIN also
identifies Norwood as the assembly plant.
The 1968 model year was only the Camaro's second year of
production, making it an early example of Chevrolet's
first-generation pony car. Changes for 1968 included the
elimination of the previous year's front vent windows and the
addition of side marker lights, giving the model several details
that distinguish it from the 1967 Camaro.
