"For the 1962 model year, the front lid was re-designed to feature
a widened lower section, and a tank cap was introduced into the
front wing. Additional ventilation grills were also integrated into
the enlarged bonnet. The Super 90 variant featured sodium filled
valves and twin Solex P40-11 carburetors. This engine is
particularly sought after by collectors due to its high power
output." - Hagerty
This 1962 Porsche 356B Super 90 was originally delivered to
Competition Motors in Hollywood California and is presented in its
original color combination of Oslo Blue (6203) with red leatherette
upholstery. This Reutter-built coupe is powered by a numbers
matching Super 90 1600cc flat-four engine producing 90 horsepower
and paired to a 4-speed manual 741 transmission with stopping power
provided by a four-wheel drum braking system.
This Porsche underwent a cosmetic restoration approximately four
years ago, including a bare metal repaint and reassembly with new
decos, rubber components, and brightwork. The interior was renewed
with red German vinyl upholstery, oatmeal German square-weave
carpets, an ivory headliner, and rubber floor mats. The underside
was stripped to bare metal and treated with German Wurth
undercoating. The engine was removed, and its sheet metal was
powder-coated.
This Porsche runs and drives magnificently, with looks to match
thanks to its stunning Oslo Blue exterior and red interior.
This Super 90 is running on 15" painted wheels with chrome center
caps wrapped in Vredestein Sprint Classic tires with matching
spare.
