This authentic matching-numbers Grabber Orange 1970 Ford Mustang
Boss 302 is one of only 7,013 produced for the model year. It has
been completely restored to show-quality standards. This example is
documented with the original factory Build Sheet, Inspection Sheet,
Ford invoice and Deluxe Marti Report. It also retains the original
factory VIN Tag, buck tag, exterior color, interior color and
drivetrain. As the Deluxe Marti Report indicates, this example was
ordered on Oct. 9, 1969, as a 1970 Ford Mustang SportsRoof Boss
302. Options ordered included Grabber Orange paint (Ford No.
3659-A), black Rhino/Corinthian vinyl bucket seats, complete tinted
glass, Sport Slats, rear deck spoiler, F60x15 belted tires with
raised white letters, AM radio, Sport Deck rear seat, 302-4V Boss
V-8 engine, evaporative emissions, four-speed close-ratio manual
transmission, Traction-Lok differential and power steering. The car
was built on Nov. 14, 1969, and was sold on Dec. 2, 1969, by Lutz
Ford Sales in Palo Alto, California. According to the information
gathered, it spent its life in California and was the product of a
rotisserie restoration that was completed in 2006. It's believed
this was an original low-mile example prior to the restoration.
Everything on this car has been restored or replaced new. The
exterior of this '70 Boss 302 features its race-bred factory
styling and striking color combination, featuring bold "hockey
stick" side stripes with Boss 302 lettering, flared fenders for
wider tires, a front spoiler, rear decklid spoiler, blacked-out
hood stripe and rear panel. The body is very straight with very
nice gaps and lines throughout. The show-quality paint in the
original Grabber Orange was recently detailed to a glossy
appearance. It has a new Car-Lite-stamped front windshield, while
the original Car-Lite-stamped door glass, quarter glass and rear
windshield only show minor wear. The car rolls on 15-inch Magnum
500 wheels mounted to Goodyear Polyglas GT F60-15
raised-white-letter tires. The beautiful interior retains a lot of
originality throughout. The black Rhino/Corinthian color
complements the Grabber Orange and black accents of the exterior
perfectly. The painted trunk compartment is decorated with a
correct-style trunk mat. The engine compartment is highly detailed
throughout with many correct parts. The car is powered by the
original factory matching-numbers 302-4V Boss V-8 engine,
factory-rated with 290hp at 5,800 rpm and 290 lb-ft at 4,300 rpm.
The engine was rebuilt, runs excellent, and breathes through the
correct-style exhaust manifolds and a replaced dual exhaust system.
The engine is coupled to the original factory matching-numbers
close-ratio four-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter. The
transmission was rebuilt and shifts precisely through the gears,
with the power transferring to the original factory 3.50
Traction-Lok rear axle. The undercarriage is very clean throughout,
and the floors were refinished in red oxide primer with Grabber
Orange overspray. The power steering system, fuel system,
suspension components and braking system were completely gone
through. It was decorated with factory paint assembly marks and
stickers throughout. This vehicle has been completely serviced and
detailed, which is documented with an invoice. From the MS CLASSIC
