This custom 1965 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is based on an Eric
Brockmeyer rendering, from which Justin Smith and his team at
Smithy Customs created a detailed piece of art with subtle updates
to the original. The no-expense-spared build was completed in 2023
and immediately toured the show circuit. Some of the car's awards
include Millwinders Top 7, Full Radical Handbuilt Custom and Full
Sports First Place at AutoRama, PPG Street Machine of the Year
Contender at the Goodguys Nationals, Meguiar's Magnificent
Masterpiece at Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals, Elite 8 and Best
Car at Texas Elite Auto Showcase. It was featured in Goodguys
Gazette magazine and Wheel Hub magazine. This Corvette was
outfitted with a big-block-style hood, and the side body line was
modified with integrated fender flares. The body was finished in
House of Kolor Silver Nebula Metallic. Exterior appointments
include a removable hardtop, chrome plating by Speed and Sport, and
LED front flashers and taillights. It rolls on 18- and 19-inch C7
Schott wheels. The rear body was modified with hand-fabricated
mini-tubs to accommodate the massive Hankook red-line 325/30-19
rear tires. The full custom red leather interior was crafted by
Aaron Davis at Innovative Rides. Some of the interior features
include Dakota Digital HDX gauges, tilt column with Sparc
Industries steering wheel, Restomod Air Cyclone S climate-control
system, power windows and locks, Lokar shifter, Alpine Electronics
and JL Audio 2,000-watt stereo system. It's equipped with automatic
headlights that operate from a photo sensor on the dash. The highly
detailed painted engine compartment houses the new 525hp GM LS3
engine. Some custom touches include the hand-fabricated steel
engine cover, air intake, finned valve covers and Concept One
serpentine system. The engine, which breathes through ceramic
Ultimate headers and has a custom-fabricated stainless-steel
exhaust system with side pipes, is coupled to a new GM 4L70E
automatic transmission. The undercarriage is highly detailed
throughout. The body sits on an Art Morrison GT Sport chassis with
independent rear suspension. The floors were finished in textured
paint for durability, and the chassis was powder-coated silver.
Stopping power is provided by Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with
red calipers and slotted rotors utilizing a hydro-boost system, as
well as an E-Stopp electric parking brake. Since completion, this
Corvette has only traveled 133 miles and was recently serviced by
Smithy Customs. An organized binder with paperwork and
miscellaneous awards is included in the sale. From the MS CLASSIC
