1997 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Woodward Dream Cruise Edition -
Car #33 - 8,335 Original Miles
An exceptionally preserved piece of Detroit automotive history,
this 1997 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Woodward Dream Cruise Edition
is car #33 from a limited run of just 58 commemorative Mustangs.
With only 8,335 original miles, this time capsule looks, runs,
drives, and even still smells like new.
Created for the 1997 Woodward Dream Cruise, the edition brought
together Ford and ASC to give the Mustang GT a distinctive
appearance inspired by the blue-and-white Shelby Mustangs of the
1960s. These individually numbered cars featured special styling
and commemorative identification, celebrating one of the Motor
City's most recognizable automotive traditions.
This example wears Crystal White paint accented by dark blue racing
stripes, matching white 17-inch wheels, and a white convertible
top. Chrome hood pins, sculpted quarter-panel scoops, Woodward
Dream Cruise fender badges, and the numbered dash plaque
distinguish it from a standard GT. The edition's signature Borla
stainless-steel side-exit exhaust, housed within SVO side skirts,
adds both visual character and a distinctive V8 soundtrack.
Power comes from Ford's 4.6L SOHC V8 paired with a five-speed
manual transmission. Power steering and power four-wheel disc
brakes complement the driving experience, while the clean engine
compartment reflects the car's careful preservation.
Inside, the Medium Graphite gray leather interior presents
beautifully. The original window sticker documents Preferred
Equipment Package 249A, air conditioning, cruise control, a power
driver's seat, anti-lock brakes, remote keyless entry, an
anti-theft system, and the Mach 460 audio system with cassette and
compact disc players. Power windows, power locks, and a power
convertible top provide the familiar comforts of a well-equipped
Mustang GT.
What makes this car particularly special is the extensive
collection of accompanying documentation, promotional memorabilia,
and additional parts. Included are the original window sticker,
original booklets and manuals, magazine articles about the car, a
binder of receipts and related literature, a stack of original
Farmer Jack giveaway posters, and a Farmer Jack promotional
stand-up display. An ASC windscreen, ASC license plate, Woodward
Dream Cruise license plate, and the original springs also accompany
the sale.
A spare SVO side skirt is included as well; the skirt currently
installed on the car has some light cracking. This is a minor
cosmetic detail worth noting on an otherwise remarkably preserved
example.
With its exceptionally low mileage, five-speed drivetrain, numbered
special-edition identity, and substantial collection of period
memorabilia, car #33 offers an opportunity to own both a
distinctive Mustang convertible and a carefully preserved chapter
of Woodward Dream Cruise history.
