Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to present 1968
Chevrolet Chevelle. Finished in a striking red with bold black
racing stripes, this Chevelle brings together the unmistakable
styling of the late 1960s muscle car era with a collection of
thoughtful upgrades and attention to detail. The exterior has a
strong presence, complemented by the black accents and classic
Chevelle body lines that make this generation such a favorite among
enthusiasts.
Under the hood sits a 396 CID V8 engine paired with a 3-speed
automatic transmission, delivering the traditional big-block muscle
car combination. Adding to the presentation is a polished engine
bay featuring plenty of chrome, including the intake manifold and
headers, along with a Holley carburetor. An aluminum radiator and
dual electric fans help manage engine temperatures, while a
serpentine belt conversion gives the engine compartment a more
updated appearance.
The Chevelle is equipped with power steering, power brakes, and
front disc brakes paired with rear drum brakes. Air conditioning
adds comfort, making this classic muscle car an appealing
combination of vintage character and modern conveniences. The black
vinyl interior presents with a fresh appearance and is complemented
by Dakota Digital gauges, bringing a contemporary touch to the
cabin while maintaining the familiar feel of a classic
Chevelle.
In 2024, the vehicle received its most recent overhaul, with the
work performed locally in Houston. Updates included new belts and
hoses, a serpentine belt conversion kit, a brake booster and master
cylinder, a new thermostat, and a replacement fuel tank. These
additions contribute to the thoughtful improvements found
throughout the vehicle.
With its bold red finish, black racing stripes, big-block 396
power, and well-detailed engine compartment, this 1968 Chevrolet
Chevelle has the look and presence that enthusiasts appreciate.
From the fresh interior to the chrome under the hood, this is a
classic American muscle car that makes a memorable impression.
