For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet K-10 in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

INTRODUCTION: Big, bad trucks are hotter than ever, even with the younger crowd! This one has been body off frame restored, lifted, and fitted with a great looking set of beefy tires. With a 350 V8, automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes, it's as enjoyable to drive as it is to look at!

EXTERIOR: This is a very clean, straight, solid truck! The long bed is nice and straight, and the tailgate opens and closes properly. There is a small dent in the tailgate, but overall, this truck presents itself exceptionally well. It's been repainted in its original Copper Poly color, and what a great color it is! The metallic is laid out evenly, and the clear coat has been polished to a smooth, glossy deep finish. The windshield and gasket have been replaced, along with the door handles. It features upgraded side mirrors, a rechromed front bumper, and a grille that's in very good condition. Around back is a custom chrome bumper. It also has the optional sliding rear window with tinted glass and a new gasket. The finishing touch is a set of classic Rally wheels wrapped in new 33-inch Firestone tires. They fill out the wheel openings nicely and give this truck a tough, purposeful stance. It's a handsome old Chevy with plenty of character and a whole lot of curb appeal!

INTERIOR: It is looking sharp! Down on the floor is fresh carpeting that fits nice with the 4-wheel-drive high and low range levers coming up through the transmission hump. All the interior metal surfaces were painted along with the truck, giving everything a clean, coordinated appearance. The instrument panel appears to have been replaced and houses a set of factory gauges, complemented by a hot rod style tachometer mounted on the steering column. It retains the original factory steering wheel. The bench seat has been recushioned and reupholstered, and the original GM seat belts are still in place. It also features new door panels, sun visors, and rearview mirror, along with a working dome light. An Alpine stereo is neatly installed in the dash, with upgraded speakers and tweeters mounted in the doors, plus a pair of boxed 6x9 speakers tucked underneath the seat for some extra sound. And one of my favorite little details is the old school gun rack in the back window!

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is a strong running 350 V8 that's been treated to some nice performance upgrades. It features an aluminum intake manifold topped with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, a set of headers to help it breathe, and a Mallory ignition system. It's dressed up with matching Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner, giving it a clean, sporty appearance. The engine compartment itself has been neatly painted to a smooth high gloss finish. Additional features include power steering, power brakes, a chrome alternator, and an Optima battery.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: This truck isn't just for show, it's ready to be put to work! The bed is rock solid and completely usable. It has been sprayed black and fitted with a thick rubber mat for added protection. The finish shows some signs of use but it presents respectably and is well suited for everyday hauling. Throw in your cooler, lawn chairs, tools, or whatever you need without worrying about keeping it spotless.

UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame during the restoration. It has a mild lift achieved with upgraded springs and shocks, giving it a great stance. The steering and suspension check out well. A dual exhaust system with chambered pipes delivers a nice, throaty rumble. It has disc brakes in front, and the brake system has been serviced, including replaced lines and a functional emergency brake. Looking up at the motor, you'll find a finned aluminum oil pan. The Turbo 350 automatic transmission is dressed up with a chrome pan. The floors are clean, solid metal, and underneath the cab is painted body color. Both the front and rear differentials are dressed up with chrome covers.

SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected, test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for sale.

CONCLUSION: This is a great value for a lifted, body off frame restored 4-wheel-drive truck! It has the looks, the power, and the right upgrades to make it a whole lot of fun without breaking the bank.
