INTRODUCTION: Talk about a dream: Gorgeous Fathom Blue with white
stripes, a striking white bucket seat interior, and no vinyl top!
This is one of the most sought after looks you can get on a 1970
Chevelle! Even better, it has undergone a complete body-off-frame
restoration, bringing it back to factory style condition.
EXTERIOR: The body is laser straight, with panels that fit square
and flush and smooth surfaces from the rockers to the roof.
Finished in gorgeous Fathom Blue, arguably one of the most
desirable colors offered on a 1970 Chevelle! The metallic is laid
out evenly, and the paint has been polished to a smooth, deep,
glossy finish. The absence of a vinyl roof really shows off those
beautiful body lines. Up front is the highly desirable cowl
induction hood, complete with the functional flapper door and
racing style hood pins. The white painted on stripes are buried
under the clear coat and feel smooth to the touch. It appears that
virtually all the exterior trim was replaced during the
restoration, including the bumpers, grille, lenses, emblems,
bezels, and stainless moldings. The weatherstrips and seals have
been replaced, along with the windshield. It's sitting proudly on a
beautiful set of SS wheels in excellent condition, wrapped in
BFGoodrich raised white letter tires.
INTERIOR: The white interior is absolutely killer against the
Fathom Blue exterior! It's been completely restored, from the fresh
carpeting on the floor to the white perforated headliner with
matching visors. The bucket seats have been recushioned and
reupholstered, and the door panels, armrests, and window cranks
have all been replaced. The entire dash area looks fresh, including
the dash pad, instrument panel, and factory gauges. It features a
deluxe three spoke steering wheel, and between the bucket seats is
a reproduction center console housing the correct Muncie 4-speed
shifter with a chrome ball. A complete set of GM seat belts
finishes things off. Everything is clean, crisp, and beautifully
presented.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is a properly date coded 396 big
block, complete with the correct casting number and engine
identification stamping- CTX. The engine features an aluminum
intake manifold topped with a correct style dual feed Holley
carburetor upgraded with an electric choke. A functional looking
cowl induction setup sits on top, while factory style valve covers
maintain the original appearance. The entire engine compartment was
clearly disassembled and meticulously restored. It is exceptionally
clean and detailed throughout. It features power steering with a
replaced pump and power brakes with a cadmium plated booster. The
wiper motor has been replaced, and the windshield washers are
hooked up. Attention to detail is evident everywhere, including the
spring-clamp battery cables with a Delco battery topper,
reproduction hoses and clamps, and a replaced wiring harness. All
the metal surfaces are neatly painted, and even the correct-style
stapled splash shields are installed over the suspension. It's a
beautifully presented engine compartment.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is looking sharp too! Under the trunk
lid and in the jambs, the Fathom Blue paint is finished
beautifully, just like the exterior. Inside is clean, solid metal
with a neatly applied factory style spatter finish. It includes the
jack and spare tire assembly, along with reproduction decals and a
replaced weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: 1,750 miles since a complete body off, nut-and-bolt
restoration! The entire chassis was stripped, prepped, and
refinished in a semi gloss black. It features the desirable F41
suspension package, which includes front and rear sway bars and
boxed rear control arms. The steering and suspension components
have been rebuilt, giving it a tight, fresh feel. The braking
system was completely rebuilt to factory specifications, with disc
brakes up front and drums in back. The emergency brake assembly is
properly hooked up, and the lines have been replaced. A dual
exhaust system features a crossover pipe, Hooker mufflers, and the
iconic SS cowbell tips exiting beneath the rear bumper. The fuel
system was replaced, including the tank and lines. Looking up at
the motor, it's spotless and dressed in traditional Chevy orange,
complete with a high torque starter. The correct Muncie M20 4-speed
transmission looks and feels fresh. A restored driveshaft connects
to the 12-bolt rear end. The floors are pristine looking metal,
beautifully refinished in factory style red oxide primer with a
protective clear coat that adds a subtle gloss.

CONCLUSION: You're going to make a lot of people envious with this
car! Who wouldn't love a '70 Chevelle that looks this good? And
wait until you hear it! I fired it up today, and oh boy, does it
sound good!
