Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL
Roadster. Finished in the attractive shade of Pearl Grey Metallic
over grey leather interior, this R107 presents very nicely inside
and out. Body is straight and solid with excellent paint quality,
bumpers, grille, glass, lenses and trim. Excellent original
underside with zero observed rust (see detailed photos of floors,
rockers, jack points, etc). Factory 15-inch Gullideckel alloy
wheels are wearing Michelin radials. Both the color-matched hard
top and a black canvas convertible top are in great shape.
Interior, trimmed in grey leather, is in well-preserved original
condition. Optioned with a rare rear seat (which is admittedly
tiny, but suitable for pets or small children). Nice carpets,
steering wheel, seats, door panels and wood. All gauges, lights and
indicators are working properly, and all climate control functions
are also working as they should (including cold A/C) - all vents
are working as well. The original Becker Grand Prix cassette stereo
still works fine but has a couple of dead pixels (display remains
legible, however).
Under the hood is a 5.6 liter overhead cam V8 mated to an overdrive
automatic transmission. The late 560SL incorporated all of the
refinements of the R107 line (which debuted in 1972) - it has the
most advanced engine management, the best climate control, and of
course the strongest overall performance. Smooth, comfortable,
fast, stylish - and with just 59k miles, it's barely broken in.
This example runs and drives beautifully and has no known deferred
maintenance needs.
Jack, spare, factory tools, original owner's manual and stamped
service book, and both top latch handles are included with the
sale. For more information about this 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL
