Ford introduced the Bronco in 1966 as a compact, rugged answer to
the Jeep CJ and International Scout, and the early Bronco has since
become one of the most sought after classic 4x4s in the world. This
1973 is the result of a fresh two year restoration, and every
single nut and bolt has been touched. The original 302 and the
classic 3 on the tree layout are still there, with modern upgrades
added where they make the truck better to drive.
Finished in Wimbledon White, this Bronco has a clean, bright look
with a brand new body and one piece seamless quarter panels. The
frame is freshly powder coated, and a progressive rate lift kit,
also powder coated to match, adds a 1 inch body lift for a tall,
confident stance. Brand new Mickey Thompson wheels are wrapped in
new 33x12.50 R15 BFGoodrich KO2 tires, and a rear bumper tire
carrier has been fitted to work with the factory bumper, keeping
that classic Bronco profile intact.
Under the hood is a rebuilt original 302 that has been roller
converted and fitted with Holley Sniper fuel injection and a
Hyperspark distributor. A CVF Racing serpentine setup, JBA coated
headers, and a full stainless exhaust round out the engine, while a
4 core aluminum radiator with two brushless fans keeps temperatures
down. Power goes through a rebuilt 3 speed manual with a new
clutch, and the axles have been gone through as well, with a
rebuilt 9 inch rear end and a rebuilt Dana 44. Stopping is handled
by a disc brake conversion with a Wilwood master cylinder and
hydroboost, and all the brake lines have been replaced with new
stainless and copper.
Inside, tan cloth bucket seats and a tan cloth rear bench seat give
the cabin a clean, comfortable look that suits the white exterior.
A wooden steering wheel adds a classic touch, and a Retro Sounds
radio brings modern audio in a vintage looking package. Vintage Air
delivers ice cold A/C, which is a welcome upgrade for a truck of
this age.
This Bronco is a great chance to own a thoroughly restored first
generation 4x4 with its original 302 and 3 on the tree character,
upgraded with fuel injection, disc brakes, and air conditioning so
it's ready to enjoy right away.
