of 188 LS-6 Corvettes Produced Valley Classics is proud to present
this remarkable 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray LS-6 454
Convertible, finished in beautiful Mulsanne Blue with a black
leather interior and contrasting white convertible top. Combining
legendary big-block Chevrolet performance, classic C3 styling, and
an exceptionally rare engine configuration, this Corvette
represents an exciting opportunity for the serious collector or
enthusiast. At the heart of this Stingray is a 454 cubic-inch
big-block V8 identified as an LS-6 in its accompanying 2014
professional appraisal. Chevrolet's legendary 1971 LS-6 was
factory-rated at 425 horsepower, with only 188 LS-6-equipped
Corvettes produced that model year. Backing the big-block engine is
a Muncie M21 close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission, identified
through its assembly stamping. The engine also features cylinder
heads bearing the apparent GM casting number 3946074, associated
with Chevrolet's high-performance aluminum big-block cylinder heads
of the period. This Corvette underwent a frame-on restoration in
2003-2004, including a bare-fiberglass repaint in its original
Mulsanne Blue. The restoration also included rebuilding the
suspension and rear end. Its timeless appearance is complemented by
the distinctive 454 hood, chrome bumpers, Chevrolet Rally wheels,
and Goodyear Eagle GT II raised-white-letter tires. Inside, the
black leather bucket seats, center console, classic Corvette
instrumentation, and 4-speed manual shifter deliver an authentic
vintage American sports-car experience. Additional equipment
documented in the appraisal includes **power steering, power
brakes, F41 heavy-duty suspension, and transistor ignition**. An
important part of this Corvette's history is its **service
replacement engine short block**, reportedly installed early in the
vehicle's life. The transmission also carries a partial VIN
stamping that differs from the vehicle's VIN, so the drivetrain is
not represented as entirely numbers-matching. Accompanying the
Corvette is a **March 24, 2014 professional appraisal by Bungay
Automobile Appraisals**, identifying the vehicle as a 1971 LS-6
Convertible and documenting its restoration, mechanical equipment,
and historical condition. The appraisal assigned a fair market
value of $80,000 at that time. With its stunning Mulsanne Blue
finish, powerful 454 big-block V8, desirable Muncie 4-speed
transmission, documented restoration history, and classic open-air
Corvette styling, this Stingray offers an outstanding combination
of American muscle-car heritage and collector appeal. **Valley
