1968 GMC Pickup
Stock # DGT3844?VIN: CELODZ023844
Some classic trucks tell you immediately that they have been cared
for, and this beautiful 1968 GMC pickup is one of them.
This GMC has been with the same owner for more than 40 years, and
when you look at the condition of the truck, it is easy to see that
it was the love of his life. It has obviously been treasured,
garage-kept and carefully maintained for decades.
Beautiful Yellow Exterior
The yellow paint is beautiful and gives this GMC exactly the right
period look. The body presents exceptionally well, and from
everything we can see so far, the truck appears to be remarkably
solid.
The chrome front and rear bumpers are beautiful, complementing the
bright yellow exterior perfectly.
The bed is another highlight. It features a beautiful finished wood
bed with chrome strips, protected by a bed cover. It is the kind of
detail that tells you how much pride the longtime owner took in
this truck.
A sliding rear window is another nice feature.
Exceptional Interior
Open the door and the condition continues.
The cab interior is beautifully finished with a light gray and dark
gray bench seat. The door panels are black with gray lower
sections, and the black carpeting is beautiful.
The headliner and upper portion of the cab are finished in yellow
to match the exterior, creating a very attractive and coordinated
interior.
It also has a Pioneer SuperTuner AM/FM stereo with additional
speakers, and it sounds great.
Mileage
The odometer currently shows 36,477 miles. Because of the age of
the truck and the five-digit odometer, we are selling the mileage
as unknown. It is possible that the odometer has rolled over once
and the actual mileage could be approximately 136,477 miles, but we
cannot document that as actual mileage.
Condition & Driving
Most importantly, this GMC runs and drives great.
We have not yet had the truck completely up on a lift for our final
underside inspection, so we don't want to make an absolute claim
about rust until that inspection is completed. However, from
everything presently visible, this appears to be an exceptionally
clean and solid truck, and its longtime garage-kept history
certainly shows.
This isn't simply another restored old pickup. It has something
increasingly difficult to find: more than four decades of ownership
history with someone who obviously loved the truck and took care of
it.
If you are looking for a 1968 GMC that is beautiful enough to show,
enjoyable enough to drive, and has the kind of longtime ownership
story collectors appreciate, this is one you need to see in
person.
If you would like to make the drive to Burlington to see this
vehicle I think you'd really enjoy seeing Drager's Clubhouse
firsthand We have a lot of interesting things on display besides
cars and trucks. We have 25 display cases full of all sorts of
amazing things. We have 100 motorcycles on display. Most people
tell us we are like a museum.
