INTRODUCTION: This is a knockout! I'm around incredible cars every
day, and this one really stands out. Not only is the family Plum
Crazy Purple with white interior an absolutely stunning
combination, but this Challenger has received a complete,
nut-and-bolt, rotisserie restoration. The fit, finish, and
attention to detail, inside and out surpass the quality of when it
was new! With only 258 miles since completion, this is one
exceptional Challenger R/T!
EXTERIOR: Drop dead gorgeous! A factory Plum Crazy Purple R/T
without a vinyl top, showing off every inch of that beautiful body.
It's been restored to a level as good as, if not better than, when
it rolled off the assembly line. The aggressive R/T power bulge
hood lets you know this is no ordinary Challenger. The body is
straight, the panels fit beautifully, and there's no rust damage or
bubbling. The metallic is laid out evenly, and the clearcoat has
been polished to a deep, smooth, glossy finish. The painted on
white Bumblebee tail stripe is the perfect contrast against that
outrageous purple! All the chrome has been restored or replaced,
including the flip top gas cap, emblems, dual racing mirrors, and
door handles. The stainless trim has been polished to a chrome like
shine. Even the grille and taillight assemblies look new! It
features a chin spoiler and the correct antenna. All the
weatherstrips and seals have been replaced, along with the front
and rear glass, while the side glass is excellent. It's rolling on
a killer set of vintage Trans Am style 18-inch ET wheels, extra
wide in back for that muscular stance, wrapped in Nitto performance
tires. The combination of the stunning color, aggressive stance,
and exceptional fit and finish makes this Challenger an absolute
showstopper!
INTERIOR: Boy, that factory white interior is an absolute knockout
against the purple! It's an extremely desirable combination, and
this one has been completely gutted and restored from the ground
up. The floors were lined with sound deadener before installing
fresh carpet. And the best part? That iconic Hurst Pistol Grip
shifter sticking up from the floor, just begging to be grabbed! The
seats have been recushioned and reupholstered, and the door panels,
headliner, visors, and rear shelf have all been replaced. The dash
pad was professionally restored, and the instrument cluster has
been upgraded with a beautiful set of RetroTech Rallye gauges. Only
258 miles are showing on the odometer since restoration! A retro
style stereo provides modern sound through dash speakers, 6x9s in
back and an amplifier while maintaining a classic appearance. A
reproduction Tuff Grip steering wheel adds another sporty touch.
Even looking up under the dash, everything is clean and tidy,
including the restored heater box. This interior is as impressive
as the exterior!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is a correct 440 big block
that's been bored and stroked to 500 cubic inches and making over
500hp! It's loaded with high performance upgrades, including Trick
Flow round port aluminum heads, a factory style Edelbrock Six Pack
intake topped with three brand new Holley carburetors, premium fuel
lines, and a Holley fuel regulator. A set of coated Doug's headers
lets it breathe, while an MSD ignition system delivers the spark,
with the wires neatly routed. A sharp set of powder coated aluminum
valve covers and matching air cleaner dress things up nicely. Up
front is a modern blacked out serpentine belt system with an
upgraded alternator and power steering. It also features power
brakes and a restored wiper motor. The correct Chrysler radiator,
shroud, and fan have all been replaced, along with the horns. An
Optima battery with a master disconnect adds reliability and
convenience. The entire engine compartment is highly detailed, with
clean, solid metal surfaces beautifully painted in Plum Crazy
Purple. The original fender tag is still in place. Overall, it's a
show quality engine compartment that combines authentic Mopar Six
Pack styling with serious modern performance!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is all clean, solid metal, completely painted
in glossy Plum Crazy Purple for a sharp, finished appearance. It's
fitted with a reproduction trunk mat and fresh weatherstrip. A
custom rear panel neatly houses the large stereo amplifier while
concealing the speakers.
UNDERSIDE: This R/T was flipped on a rotisserie, and the results
are spectacular! The underbody is pristine metal, painted the same
gorgeous Plum Crazy Purple as the exterior. Every component looks
new, right down to the hardware, brake lines, and fuel lines. Up
front is a custom tubular K-member with a highly upgraded
suspension system featuring tubular control arms, a beefy sway bar,
Ridetech adjustable coilover gas shocks, and rack-and-pinion
steering. In back, it has new springs, bushings, RideTech
adjustable coilover gas shocks, and a sway bar. The fuel system has
been completely replaced and upgraded. A great sounding, stainless
dual exhaust system features an X-pipe, MagnaFlow mufflers, and
quad tips exiting through the rear valance. Drilled and slotted
disc brakes at all four wheels provide upgraded stopping power, and
the emergency brake is all new. Looking up at the motor, you'll
find an extra capacity Milodon anodized oil pan and a high torque
starter. It's backed by a Passon 5-speed manual transmission that
sends power to a heavy duty Dana rear end with 3.54 Sure Grip
gears. The attention to detail underneath is every bit as
impressive as what you'll see on top!
