GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this fine gentleman's hot rod
1965 Buick Skylark for your consideration. This Skylark comes
finished in a stunning LeMans Blue exterior over a clean White
interior and is powered by a freshly rebuilt 401 cubic inch
Nailhead V8 producing an impressive 375 horsepower. The engine,
originally sourced from a 1963 Buick Wildcat, has received
extensive performance upgrades and fresh machining, including a
polished crankshaft, cylinder angle performance valve job with new
guides, decked heads for slightly increased compression, new
bearings, gaskets, and seals. Additional engine upgrades include a
high-volume T/A Performance oil pump, a new Kenne-Bell KB Mark 2A
camshaft featuring .475-inch valve lift and 270-degree duration,
new pushrods and hydraulic lifters, a new Edelbrock 750 CFM
carburetor, Mallory electronic ignition, new timing gears and
chain, and ceramic-coated headers. Exhaust exits through a new
2.5-inch T/A Performance mandrel-bent exhaust system. Power is sent
through a freshly rebuilt 2026 Muncie wide-ratio 4-speed manual
transmission featuring new synchronizers and a Hurst shifter. The
drivetrain is further complemented by a new Hayes clutch, hydraulic
throw-out bearing, and GM hydraulic clutch master cylinder.
Additional new components include the starter, water pump,
alternator, wiring harness, spark plugs, ignition wires, and
distributor cap. The chassis has also received extensive attention,
with a completely rebuilt front end featuring new upper and lower
ball joints, tie rod ends, upper and lower control arm bushings,
adjustment sleeves, idler arm assembly, and new bearings. All parts
were sandblasted, refinished with PPG two-stage epoxy primer, and
top-coated. This Skylark also features the rare non-deluxe rear
taillights, adding a unique detail to an already distinctive Buick.
With extensive mechanical, performance, and cosmetic work
throughout, this is an impressive example of a classic Buick with
serious performance upgrades and much more. Drive this one out of
our showroom or have us assist with shipping it to you anywhere in
the United States! Don't hesitate to call us with any questions or

The 1965 Buick Skylark represented an important part of Buick's
intermediate-size lineup during the height of American muscle car
development. Built on GM's intermediate A-body platform, the
Skylark combined upscale Buick styling and comfort with the
potential for impressive V8 performance. The 1965 model year
featured updated styling, including revised front and rear styling
details, while offering buyers a variety of engine and transmission
combinations. Buick's legendary Nailhead V8 engines had already
established a reputation for strong low-end torque and distinctive
engineering, making them a popular choice among enthusiasts. Today,
the 1965 Skylark remains a desirable classic, appreciated for its
combination of traditional Buick refinement, timeless styling, and
the performance potential that helped define the American muscle
car era.
