"A Dodge special edition like none other, the 2023 Dodge Challenger
SRT Demon 170 is the quickest vehicle ever produced in the brand's
100 plus year history. The Challenger SRT Demon 170 is the first
factory production car to run the quarter mile under 9 seconds with
a National Hot Rod Association certified 8.91 second ET at 151.17
mph. On the drag strip, the Challenger receives an NHRA violation
letter for running a sub nine second quarter mile time without a
safety cage or parachute, following in the footsteps of the
original Demon, which was also banned from NHRA quarter miles."

For consignment, a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 hardtop with
a title verified 13 miles. There's no typo here; the car shows
thirteen miles! Dodge's Last Call special edition pushed the Mopar
engineers to new heights; recalibrating the engine, reinforcing the
driveline, purpose building the suspension and offering the first
car ever with staggered drag radials from the factory.
Exterior
About 20% of the Demon 170's were Pitch Black, a particularly
sinister looking coverage appropriate for something called a demon.
It is flawless on our showroom example here and the fully
monochromatic blanket is augmented with some subtle and not so
subtle aspects that include a matte black hood scoop, matte
coverage on the rear spoiler and eye popping yellow corner guards
on the front splitter. Along with the wide hood intake, the inboard
bright headlight position is adorned with holes that funnel even
more air into the mouth of the beast. 18x8" wheels in front and
17x11" units in the back carry staggered sized Mickey Thompson ET
Street drag radials and fender flares are reserved for the wide
meats in back. Dodge's clever graphics department puts a yellow
eyed laughing devil on the fenders with the coveted 170 as part of
the engraving. The last bit of color can be found in the back where
horizontal tail lights, bumper reflectors, and integrated exhaust
tips will be the view most people see on the strip.
Interior
There's not a huge diversion from mere mortal Hemi Challengers on
the inside however the Premium Group adds Alcantara to the door and
Laguna leather seats, stamped with the smiling demon and contrasted
by Demonic red seat belts. The rear seats get the same treatment
without the logo but borrowing some of the side support. Factory
plastic still covers the driver's seat, steering wheel, and shifter
and the plastic film still protect the center screen, the channel
through which vast information is expressed and programmed. Carbon
fiber trim surrounds dash and center console features. The upgraded
interior also features an 18 speaker Harman Kardon system with a
trunk mounted subwoofer. In every way, the interior presents as
new.
Drivetrain
So does the bay where you'll find the born legend, a 6.2 liter Hemi
supercharged V8 that will put out 1,025 horsepower on E85 fuel, and
900 on E10. Behind it, a beefy 8HP90 Torqueflite 8-speed automatic
with Transbrake 2.0 that allows adaptability depending on track
conditions. The bolstered housing of the rear axle holds 3.09 gears
with mechanical limited slip.
Undercarriage
Like the engine bay, the underside shows virtually no signs of age.
Brembo 6-piston power disc brakes are up front and coupled with
power disc in the back as well. Suspension is fully independent and
includes Macpherson struts in front and coil springs in back.
Drive-Ability
This perfectly preserved Demon, one of just 3,300 produced,
functions as if new, meaning that everything works as intended on
the car and it happens to sound great doing it! While Classic Auto
Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of
our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working
at the time of your purchase.
Just as it did in the original muscle car era, Dodge carved out a
place in automotive history. Since the reintroduction of the
Challenger in 2008, there have been many special editions, record
breaking horsepower hounds, and mind blowing statistics. This one
tops them all; the absolute pinnacle of the modern muscle car
movement and a true collectible that doesn't need 30 years to
attain classic status.
