BMW 1-Serie 135I 135i Cabriolet M-Sport, 2012. Seven owners, 61,783
km, service books from new.
When BMW launched the very first 1 Series back in 2007, quite a few
people raised a sceptical eyebrow. A compact BMW with rear-wheel
drive, short overhangs, and that trademark long bonnet, purely
because a straight-six had to fit lengthways underneath it.
Practical? Barely. The rear bench was a punishment and the boot
more of a gesture than a promise. But anyone with even a passing
understanding of what BMW was once truly about got it immediately:
this was the smallest, last, purely analogue rear-wheel-drive baby
BMW you could still buy without remortgaging the house.
And then, of course, came a 135i. And later, for the genuine
hedonists, this: the 135i Convertible.
A quick word about that engine, because with this particular car it
is everything. The early 135i had the fabled N54, the twin-turbo
that tuners still say their nightly prayers over. This 2012 example
belongs to the later run with the N55: a single twin-scroll turbo,
smoother, more modern, and good for 306 bhp on paper. In practice,
you notice it mostly in the moments you forget you are driving
BMW's entry-level model. This one does not drive like a little car.
It drives like a car that frankly has too much power for its own
good, and that is precisely what I love about it.
The story continues on our website, where the full file is kept as
well. 108 photographs including the underside. The service history,
scanned in full. The Carfax report. Paint thickness measured panel
by panel. The original factory brochure to page through. A timeline
from 26 October 2012 to today, with every owner and the mileage
year by year in a single graph.
Every car here follows the same route: first pre-market, then the

arrived, it stays with us in Katwijk. This one is in the showroom
and you are welcome to come and see it, no appointment needed. You

in Katwijk, 30 km from Amsterdam Schiphol, is open Mon-Fri 9-18 and
Sat 10-17. Call ahead and it will be standing ready, with someone
free for you.
