"Always known for pure driving exhilaration and beautiful design,
Camaro has never been more focused. The critics have taken note:
'Camaros are among the most sophisticated driver's cars in the
world,' says Car and Driver in its 10 Best issue for 2018, the
third straight year Camaro has made the list. Why follow when you
can lead?" From the 2019 sales brochure.
For consignment, a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro 1LT RS coupe with a title
verified 1,522 actual miles, no typo here. This one owner, garage
kept example is all stock except the added SS wheels and new set of
tires. "Old" cars don't get much newer than this near flawless 2019
Camaro.
Exterior
Our athletic pony car arrives in Black paint augmented by dramatic
RS gray stripes on the hood, rear decklid and spilling over the
subtle spoiler. The 2014 facelift proves to have lasting power as
the narrow headlights and geometric upper and lower grilles while
in back, clear lenses on the tail lights might remind you of the C7
Z06 and are as aggressive as they are stylish. The V6 still puts
out some impressive exhaust tips, and a black bowtie combines with
the red RS badge in back to complete the unique and sporty rear
profile. 20-inch SS wheels are in motion when standing still and
are wrapped in staggered sized ZR rated tires with a mid 2019 date
code. Imperfections are few and include some surface scratches and
minor inclusions.
Interior
The array of shapes and angles on the door panels are both complex
and practical allowing your hands and arm to fall naturally in
useful places while a small storage bin is included down low. Black
cloth seats with white stitching and gray inserts mirror the
exterior and like the rest of the interior, are in perfect
condition with the rear 2+2 are consistent in color, materials and
condition. The leather wrapped, flat bottomed steering wheel also
shows white stitching and leads to a view of the dash with four
analog gauges and a center electronic read out. The AM/FM/CD radio,
(XM, Carplay, and Bluetooth capable), and camera screen are housed
in the center console with smooth material all around with circular
vents below and a white stitched shifter boot in the center console
over low pile black carpet. Up top, an overhead console and formed
charcoal headliner in great shape and the spotless trunk is fully
finished in formed panels.
Drivetrain
Showroom fresh, the bay is home to the 3.6 liter DOHC VVT GDI V6
rated at a healthy 335 horsepower and mated to a Tremec TR3160
6-speed manual transmission that sends power to the 3.27 limited
slip rear axle.
Undercarriage
As one would expect, the underside is also close to new in
appearance. Power disc brakes are on all four wheels; dual exhaust
runs through original equipment, and suspension is fully
independent and comprises Macpherson struts in front and coil
springs with a multi-link suspension in back.
Drive-Ability
Also no surprises here as it starts, idles and drives without
fault. The cabin is comfortable and pleasingly ergonomic and the
car puts down good power. Naturally, all functions operate as
intended on this well preserved 5th gen. While Classic Auto Mall
represents that these functions were working at the time of our
test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at
the time of your purchase.
Good power, decent gas mileage, and probably lower insurance rates!
It's the complete package and if you wanted one that was newer,
you'd have to take a time machine back to late 2018. This one was
tucked away and is now ready for a new owner!
