Up for sale is a stunning, beautifully original 1957 Mercury
Monterey Coupe in excellent condition. This is a highly original
classic that was rescued from being a 'basket case' and
meticulously brought back to life with a focus on preservation and
reliability. The Story & Mechanical Revival: When I purchased the
vehicle, it was sitting on rotted tires with a disassembled
transmission in the trunk. Since then, no expense or labor has been
spared to make this cruiser road-ready and reliable: Fully Rebuilt
Transmission & Shifter: Completely reconditioned by a master
vintage mechanic using rare, original-stock parts. The shifter has
been fully sorted and shifts beautifully. Detailed Underside: Every
component touched by hand was cleaned, painted (including the
transmission, driveshaft, and metal guards), and the entire
undercarriage was protected with a rubberized undercoating. There
is absolutely zero rust on this car. Brakes: The original
Treadle-Vac brake booster was professionally sent out and fully
rebuilt ($800+ in parts alone). The braking system is now sharp and
highly responsive. Charging System: Fitted with a freshly rebuilt
generator and a brand-new voltage regulator for modern reliability.
Brand New Windshield: The notoriously difficult, curved factory
windshield was just professionally replaced yesterday using
brand-new glass ($700+) and fresh rubber seals. A $1,300 total job
that removes any glass distortion from the driver's view. Interior
& Exterior Condition: Immaculate Interior: The cabin is flawless.
The front seat bottoms were professionally rebuilt by Juan Rema
Upholstery with period-correct material and fresh foam to replace
the aged factory inserts. There is not a single blemish inside.
Paint & Body: Finished in a striking period-correct green. The body
lines are laser-straight, and the car looks incredible in person.
While believed to be a highly original two-owner car, it drives
beautifully on the highway and was a hit at the two local car shows
it attended this summer. Clean title in hand. The pictures speak
for themselves-this is an amazing piece of American automotive
history ready for its next caretaker. Important Information -
