This 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 combines the unmistakable presence
of Chevrolet's fifth-generation flagship Camaro with a heavily
upgraded, professionally supported supercharged drivetrain.
Finished in Victory Red over a black leather and microfiber suede
interior, this ZL1 shows approximately 16,040 miles and has
reportedly been under its current ownership since 2018.
At the center of the build is the supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8. A
supplied Speedtech Tuning session report dated October 7, 2021,
documents two chassis-dyno pulls. The first produced 791.6
horsepower and 806.2 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. The second and
strongest pull recorded an impressive 818.7 rear-wheel horsepower
at 5,950 rpm and 821.1 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm using STD J607
correction.
The supplied build information describes a ported supercharger with
a reinforced intercooler brick, while the accompanying Paragon
Engines documentation itemizes a serious top-end and valvetrain
package. Components include a custom Comp Cams 227/241 camshaft
with a 118+3 LSA, Paragon Engines 11-degree LS3 cylinder heads,
conical valve springs, stainless-steel intake and exhaust valves,
billet rocker-arm stands, Smith Brothers trunnions, 7.400-inch
hardened pushrods, and LS7-style lifters.
Additional documented engine components include a Cloyes billet
timing set with dampener, LS9 seven-layer head gaskets, ARP head
studs, an ATI harmonic balancer, and an LPE supercharger ring. The
October 2020 Paragon Engines estimate totals $7,323.52 and also
lists an upgraded fuel system among the supplied components.
Fuel delivery has been upgraded to support the engine's increased
output and E85 flex-fuel capability. The supplied build information
identifies Injector Dynamics ID1300 injectors, Radium Engineering
fuel rails and regulator, high-flow fuel-system components, and
custom ECU tuning. Cooling and airflow upgrades reportedly include
an enlarged heat exchanger, upgraded intercooler cooling, a Cold
Air Inductions intake assembly, and an oil catch can.
Power is sent through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission
equipped with an MGW flat-stick short-throw shifter. A June 2023
invoice documents a Monster Clutch S-Series triple-disc clutch
specifically configured for a fifth-generation ZL1. The clutch
package includes a standard billet-steel triple-disc flywheel,
remote speed bleeder, and billet release-bearing support. The
documented invoice total is $2,044.97.
The custom exhaust system features long-tube headers and a
freer-flowing exhaust arrangement, allowing the modified LSA to
breathe while delivering the aggressive exhaust note expected from
an 800-plus-rear-wheel-horsepower ZL1.
The chassis retains the ZL1's Magnetic Ride Control suspension and
large ZL1-branded Brembo braking system. Its factory 20-inch
five-spoke wheels have been powder-coated black and are wrapped in
Nitto NT555 G2 tires measuring 285/35ZR20 at the front and
315/35ZR20 at the rear.
The Victory Red exterior is complemented by an exposed carbon-fiber
hood insert, ZL1-specific front splitter, HID headlights with LED
halo rings, fog lights, a body-color rear spoiler, rear parking
sensors, quad exhaust outlets, and subtle ZL1 badging
throughout.
Inside, the ZL1 features heated and power-adjustable front sport
seats upholstered in black leather with microfiber suede inserts,
red contrast stitching, and embroidered ZL1 headrests. Additional
equipment includes a head-up display, air conditioning, cruise
control, power windows and locks, aluminum pedals, a Boston
Acoustics sound system, and the factory auxiliary gauge package
positioned ahead of the shifter.
AEM instruments mounted along the driver's A-pillar provide
dedicated monitoring for air/fuel ratio and boost pressure. The
additional factory console gauges monitor oil pressure, voltage,
oil temperature, and supercharger boost.
Factory owner's manuals, warranty and assistance literature, OnStar
and SiriusXM materials, Radium Engineering installation
instructions, dealership materials, build documentation, parts
estimates, a Monster Clutch invoice, and the Speedtech dyno report
accompany the car.
With approximately 16,000 miles, a six-speed manual transmission,
documented 818.7 rear-wheel horsepower, extensive supporting
modifications, and desirable factory ZL1 equipment, this Camaro
delivers a rare combination of modern comfort, aggressive styling,
and serious supercharged performance.
