This 1938 Ford Standard Tudor Sedan combines traditional prewar
Ford styling with a series of period-inspired hot rod upgrades.
Finished in black with an older repaint and a tan cloth interior,
this two-door sedan features a rebuilt Flathead V8, upgraded
suspension, and extensive mechanical and electrical
improvements.
Rebuilt Flathead V8
Power comes from a rebuilt Ford Flathead V8 featuring an Isky Max 1
camshaft, aftermarket cylinder heads, a single one-barrel
carburetor mounted on a triple-carburetor intake manifold, and
Mallory ignition. Fenton headers feed a dual exhaust system with
Flowmaster mufflers, while a 3-speed manual transmission delivers
power to the rear wheels. Additional upgrades include a replacement
clutch assembly, water pumps, an electric cooling fan, and a
12-volt electrical conversion.
Traditional Styling with Hot Rod Upgrades
The black Tudor sedan retains its classic 1938 Ford appearance,
complemented by a lowered front suspension, chrome shock absorbers,
and 16-inch wheels. Inside, the tan cloth bench-seat interior
maintains a traditional look, with a floor-mounted shifter,
original-style gauges, and added seat belts.
With its rebuilt Flathead V8, traditional styling, and
period-inspired mechanical upgrades, this 1938 Ford Standard offers
an appealing blend of prewar character and old-school hot rod
performance.
