Like all great collaborations, the enduring partnership between
Ferrari and Pininfarina began over lunch in 1951, when two towering
figures of the automotive world, Enzo Ferrari and Battista "Pinin"
Farina, met at a restaurant halfway between Modena and Turin, their
respective homes. That meeting marked the beginning of a creative
alliance that would shape some of the most celebrated road cars
ever to emerge from Maranello, one of the earliest expressions of
which was the Ferrari 212 Inter.
In 2010, Ferrari celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Pininfarina
design house, founded by Gian-Battista Pinin Farina in 1930, with a
fitting tribute and a very special gift: the unveiling of the 599
SA Aperta, an exclusive open-top special series honoring both
Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, whose initials give the model its
name. Limited to just 80 examples, this exclusive roadster
celebrated not only the family firm's milestone anniversary, but
also its longstanding creative partnership with Ferrari.
Conceived as a true open-top roadster, the 599 SA Aperta delivers a
visceral expression of Ferrari's front-engined V12 philosophy, with
a re-engineered chassis offering rigidity comparable to its
closed-roof counterpart. Its naturally aspirated 5,999-cc V12
produces 661 hp and is paired with the six-speed F1 SuperFast
automated transmission shared with the 599 GTO, blending advanced
technology with the exhilarating performance expected of Ferrari's
flagship V12 models.
All 80 cars were sold before production began, underscoring the
significance of the occasion and the appeal of this rare model.
Among them, this exceptional example was ordered in Rosso Corsa
over a two-tone Nero and Rosso leather interior, with an extensive
selection of factory options totaling more than $87,000. These
include abundant carbon-fiber trim throughout, with carbon-fiber
engine covers, front light housings, driver's zone, central bridge,
exterior sill kick plates, and dashboard inserts. Further
highlights include red brake calipers matching the exterior finish,
as well as convenience features such as parking sensors and fully
electric seats, among others.
Delivered new through Ferrari of Vancouver in British Columbia,
Canada, the car was imported into the United States in 2013, having
covered barely 100 miles. At the time of cataloging, this 599 SA
Aperta displays an exceptionally low 745 miles on the odometer. It
has been well maintained, as documented by a clean CARFAX report
recording annual servicing exclusively at Ferrari dealerships,
initially at Ferrari of Long Island, New York, and subsequently,
for the most part, at Ferrari of West Palm Beach, Florida. The
records also reflect the car's consistent use, with several dozen
miles added each year.
In 2021, the car crossed the border into Canada once again before
returning to the United States in June 2026. It then received one
service at McLaren North Jersey before being entrusted to Ferrari
of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in late September 2026.
Generously optioned, showing exceptionally low mileage, and
regularly exercised and serviced throughout its life, this example
offers a rare opportunity to acquire the exclusive open-top 599 SA
Aperta. Born of one of the most storied partnerships in automotive
design, it holds an important place in Ferrari history, a status
reflected in its values, which have multiplied roughly fourfold
since the model's debut some fifteen years ago.
