Ferrari unveiled the 360 Spider at the Geneva Motor Show in March
2000, a year after the 360 Modena had replaced the F355 as
Maranello's mid-engined V8 berlinetta. At the touch of a button,
its fully automatic roof folded away beneath a hinged cover behind
the seats.
Beneath the skin, the Spider shared the coupe's aluminum
spaceframe, a structure developed with Alcoa. It was specially
reinforced for open-top duty along the sills and windshield frame.
Behind the cabin sat the same 3,586-cc V8, rated at 395 horsepower
and revving to 8,500 rpm, with most buyers pairing it with the F1
electrohydraulic transmission. Introduced on the 355 in 1997, the
transmission brought Formula 1-derived paddle shifting to the
marque's V8 road cars.
This 2004 Spider was delivered new through Ferrari of Beverly Hills
in Blu Tour de France with a Sabbia leather interior and a matching
blue power soft top. A copy of its window sticker lists a suggested
retail price of $195,828 and an options list devoted largely to
interior customization. It shows the car was optionally specified
with a colored upper dashboard and steering wheel, colored piping,
color-keyed roll-bar upholstery, and leather-trimmed rear shelf and
door moldings. The order also added modular 18-inch five-spoke
wheels, a high-power hi-fi system with subwoofer, and a six-disc CD
changer. It has since been fitted with a Capristo exhaust,
Challenge-style rear grille, and aftermarket modular wheels.
The clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report shows registrations in
California, Nevada, and Oregon, followed by an export to British
Columbia in 2023. A single owner held it in Oregon for 12 years,
from 2006 to 2018. Throughout that time, Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo of
Wilsonville, Oregon, served as its principal servicing facility.
The F1 gearbox potentiometers and reverse lever were replaced in
April 2017 at approximately 21,000 miles. The timing and drive
belts were renewed in 2022, when the cabin's control surfaces were
also refinished. Most recently, on 31 July 2026, Ferrari of Newport
Beach completed a maintenance inspection that included new
transmission mounts and spark plugs. Today, the car is offered with
just under 24,500 miles at the time of cataloging.
A 360 Spider in Blu Tour de France, documented from its window
sticker onward, makes a refreshing alternative to the familiar red.
With the roof stowed, the flat-plane V8 sings all the way to its
8,500-rpm redline, and the F1 paddles keep every gear change at the
driver's fingertips.
