Over two evenings on 7 and 8 September 2017, Ferrari unveiled its
new V8 grand tourer in Portofino itself, the Italian Riviera harbor
village whose name it carries. Piero Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel
were among the guests. Replacing the California T, the Portofino
kept a retractable hardtop beneath a two-box fastback profile, a
shape Ferrari described as unprecedented for a coupe-convertible.
It was also the first car in Ferrari's GT range with electric power
steering. Its 3,855-cc twin-turbocharged V8 produces 591
horsepower, enough for 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of
more than 199 mph.
Ferrari introduced its Tailor Made program in 2011 to revive the
bespoke ordering culture of the 1950s and 1960s. Clients travel to
Maranello and work with a Personal Designer to specify paint and
trim well beyond the standard catalog, with this Portofino being
one such commission. According to its Personalization
Specifications plate, it was finished in Extracampionario Verde
Metallizzato with a Light Beige roof and a Verdone and Panna
leather interior. The two-tone scheme continues into Verde
Metallizzato mirrors, Light Beige wheel center caps, and a livery
across the front lid and bumper.
Inside, Extracampionario Verdone Elmo Soft VIII leather surrounds
vertically ribbed seats with Panna centers and piping. Stitching is
tone-on-tone, with Verde thread on the Verdone leather and Kvadrat
fabric, and Cavallino emblems are stitched in Grigio Chiaro on the
headrests. Kvadrat Field Verde fabric covers the mats, edged in
Panna leather. A silver dedication plate and a Grigio NART
kickplate carry the Tailor Made logo in Nero DS with a Rosso Corsa
stripe.
The order also specified Magneride dual-mode suspension, carbon
fiber exterior sill kicks, gloss black brake calipers, Scuderia
Ferrari shields, a yellow rev counter, full electric seats, the
high-power hi-fi system, and a parking camera. The car carries more
than $120,000 in factory options.
Displayed at Ferrari's Tailor Made Studio, this Portofino was
delivered by Ferrari of Central New Jersey in July 2019. According
to its CARFAX Vehicle History Report, its original owner kept the
car until 2026, returning it to the Edison dealer for routine
maintenance through 2024. It is offered with under 5,500 miles at
the time of cataloging. It is furnished with a clean CARFAX Report,
along with its original window sticker, special edition "Grey
Book," and carbon fiber key box.
