Based on the 575M Maranello, the limited-production Ferrari
Superamerica was the first production car with a rotating
electrochromic glass roof, which turns it from a coupe into a
convertible in just seconds. Its 5.75-liter V12 delivers 533
horsepower and pushes the car to a top speed of 199 miles per hour.
Power reaches the rear wheels through Ferrari's six-speed F1
transmission with an electrohydraulic gearbox shifted by
steering-wheel paddles and derived directly from the Scuderia's
Formula 1 cars.
Richly specified in Rosso Corsa with an optional Daytona-style
beige seats and carbon-fiber interior trim, this Ferrari
Superamerica is further equipped with the coveted GTC package,
which adds carbon-ceramic brakes, a titanium exhaust, revised
suspension and steering, and 19-inch modular wheels, one of several
options that together totaled over $54,000, as documented on a
digital copy of its window sticker. Notably, it was spec'd with the
rarely seen interior carbon trim package, leather upholstery on the
wall behind the seats, a High Power Hi-Fi sound system, and
exterior Scuderia Ferrari shields. It is likely one of the highest
specified Superamericas delivered to the United States.
Delivered new through Ferrari of Central New Jersey, the
Superamerica has been regularly serviced, principally alternating
between Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, Foreign Cars of Monmouth, and
its original dealer, Wide World Ferrari. It subsequently received a
major service by Ferrari Prancing Horse of Nashville at 13,334
miles in 2023, at a cost of nearly $22,000. The work included
timing-belt replacement and the cleaning of the column stalks,
steering column shroud, hood release handles, and climate control
panel to prevent sticky buttons. A detailed invoice is on file.
Most recently, Ferrari Silicon Valley performed an additional
service this past September 29. Finally, the electrochromic
Revocromico glass rotating roof has been replaced with an
aftermarket tinted rotating panel, addressing one of the model's
known weaknesses.
Lavishly optioned, including the GTC package, this Superamerica
showed just 13,519 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloging
and is accompanied by a clean CARFAX Report documenting extensive
maintenance, including a major service performed less than 200
miles ago. It represents an ideal opportunity to acquire a model
that pairs the stunning performance of a berlinetta, powered by
Ferrari's most traditional engine, the twelve-cylinder, with the
stylish versatility of a convertible.
