Ferrari's 458 Speciale, unveiled in 2013, is widely regarded as the
high-water mark of naturally aspirated, mid-engined V8 Ferraris.
Its 4.5-liter engine produced 597 horsepower and revved to 9,000
rpm, while extensive aerodynamic refinement, including active flaps
front and rear, and significant weight reduction sharpened its
handling. Ferrari's advanced stability and traction control
systems, such as Side Slip Angle Control, made its extreme
performance remarkably accessible. Its significance lay in its
timing-it was the last of its kind. Ferrari's subsequent V8 models
adopted turbocharging, making the 458 Speciale a celebrated
farewell to the high-revving, naturally aspirated era.
This elegantly understated example boasts approximately 4,600 miles
from new and presents as a sparingly used, low-mileage example of
Ferrari's prized V8 flagship model. Documented with a copy of its
original window sticker, this U.S.-market example was delivered new
to Scottsdale Ferrari, presented in the not-often-seen yet
sophisticated Argento Nrburgring livery with an optional $11,811
racing stripe to announce its presence as a true Speciale. A
refreshing change in a market composed mostly of red examples, this
car is one of only a small percentage of 458 Speciales delivered in
this distinctive, attractive livery combination. Its window sticker
documents a host of other factory optional equipment, including a
suspension lifter, titanium exhaust pipes, Adaptive Frontlight
System (AFS), 20-inch forged dark-painted rims, colored special
stitching, a Cavallino Rampante stitched on the headrest, and front
and rear parking sensors.
It has accumulated limited mileage over the past decade-plus, with
early service visits to Scottsdale Ferrari under original ownership
noted on its internal dealer maintenance record as well as its
CARFAX report. The car would transition to its second, San
Francisco Bay Area-based owner in early 2017 with only a couple
hundred miles on its odometer at the time. Service visits to
Ferrari of Silicon Valley are recorded in 2018 and 2019, and again
in 2023. In 2025, the 458 Speciale was treated to a major service
as well as a Ferrari Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) inspection at
Ferrari dealer Cavallino Rosso in St. Louis, with a 14-page
internal service invoice on file documenting some $25,000 in work
performed.
Its current Texas-based owner acquired the 458 Speciale in 2025 and
has continued to use it sparingly, opting to renew the car's
extended Power15 Ferrari CPO powertrain warranty, which is
currently in effect until February 2028 (transferability of this
extended warranty is to be verified independently by bidders). Most
recently, in 2026, the 458 Speciale had its battery replaced at
Ferrari of Austin. It is noted that the Speciale has been
additionally enhanced with an upgraded sound system, an Innotech
titanium muffler (though factory exhaust components will be
included), and an Escort Max 360 hard-wired radar detector.
With its low mileage, rare and attractive specification, and
well-documented service and CPO history, this is an opportunity to
acquire one of Ferrari's modern masterpieces, a car whose following
and status are only guaranteed to grow as time goes on.
