Since 2003, Ferrari has offered track-focused variants of its V8
models that embody the essence of their racing counterparts. These
special series emphasize reduced weight, increased power, and
enhanced rigidity, drawing from the Ferrari Challenge and FIA GT
Championships. Notable examples include the 360 Challenge Stradale,
430 Scuderia, 458 Speciale, and, introduced in 2018, the 488
Pista-Italian for "Track."
The track-ready evolution of the 488 would continue the practice of
adapting racing innovations and aerodynamics for road use, taking
inspiration from its 488 Challenge and 488 GTE racing siblings.
These included a Formula 1-derived S-Duct, GTE-style rear diffuser,
and enlarged "dolphin-tail" rear spoiler, improving downforce over
the 488 GTB by a claimed 20 percent.
Underneath the Lexan rear window rested a mid-mounted,
twin-turbocharged V8-a configuration not seen since the legendary
F40. Improvements over the standard 488, including repositioned air
intakes and an enlarged intercooler, yielded a remarkable
50-horsepower increase and made it "the most powerful V8 engine in
the Maranello marque's history." Inside, a sparse,
carbon-fiber-laden interior lacked sound deadening, contributing to
some 198 pounds in weight savings and a visceral experience behind
the wheel. This translated directly to on-track performance, with
the Pista lapping Ferrari's Fiorano test track in 1:21.5-two
seconds faster than the 458 Speciale.
This highly optioned 488 Pista is finished in radiant Giallo
Modena. The paint is complemented by a two-tone Blu America and
Argento Nrburgring livery stripe, a staggering $32,904 option. Its
livery is completed by yellow brake calipers, black tailpipe tips,
and Scuderia Ferrari fender shields. Carbon fiber was specified
throughout the exterior, including the front flaps, front air
vents, side air splitters, engine covers, rear diffuser, under-door
covers, and rear molding.
Inside, occupants are held firmly in place by large carbon fiber
racing seats, their deep bolsters trimmed in Nero Alcantara with
Giallo leather details and contrast stitching, while Cavallini
stitched in Giallo adorn the headrests. A racing seat lifter,
yellow rev counter, and matte-finish carbon fiber for the
instrument cover, inner sills, and upper center console complete
the cabin. While the 488 Pista is clearly at home on the track,
this superb example offers many welcome luxury amenities. These
include a suspension lifter, parking camera, adaptive frontlight
system, Radionavi system with Bluetooth, and an integrated audio
system. In all, the window sticker lists $134,123 in options.
The accompanying digital window sticker notes that the car was
dispatched to PF Automobile Dealers Inc. in Calgary, Alberta,
Canada. Its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report shows that it was
later registered in Manitoba from 2022 through 2025. After brief
registrations in Alberta and Ontario in 2026, including a visit for
service in North York, Ontario, the car entered the United States
this September.
Today, chassis number 246109 is offered in superb, like-new
condition with just 405 miles on the odometer at the time of
cataloging. Barely broken in and presented in a truly breathtaking
specification, this is surely one of the finest and most
collectible 488 Pistas in the world.
