1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport - 94k Original Miles - Ivy Glow
Survivor
This 1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport SportsRoof is a well-maintained
survivor with 94k original miles and a beautiful period color
combination. Finished in Ivy Glow with a matching green vinyl
bench-seat interior, this Torino has the unmistakable look of early
'70s Ford styling, complete with Laser Stripes, Magnum 500 chrome
wheels, and raised white-letter tires.
Under the hood is a 351ci 2-barrel V8 paired with an FMX
SelectShift automatic transmission and a 2.75 conventional rear
axle. Retaining its original-style drivetrain setup, the engine
compartment presents nicely with its Ford blue air cleaner and
valve covers. Power steering and power front disc brakes round out
the package, and this is an original factory SelectAire
A/C-equipped car.
The green interior complements the exterior beautifully and remains
well preserved overall. Features include the factory
Instrumentation Group, a column-mounted shifter, and a wood-rim
steering wheel. The radio has been deleted, although the Marti
Report documents that the car was originally ordered with an AM
radio. The original spare and jack are still in the trunk.
The included Deluxe Marti Report documents this Torino's factory
configuration, including Ivy Glow paint, green vinyl bench seating,
Laser Stripes, tinted glass, Magnum 500 chrome wheels, and front
and rear bumper guards. Built at Ford's Atlanta plant on March 2,
1973, it was originally delivered through Lonnie Russell Ford in
Birmingham, Alabama. According to the report, it is one of just
1,871 1973 Gran Torino Sport SportsRoof models produced with this
paint and trim combination.
Overall, this Torino presents in great condition for a survivor and
has clearly benefited from years of care. It is virtually rust free
throughout, with two small areas on the underbody recently patched,
as shown in the photos. With its striking green-on-green
appearance, well-preserved character, and documented factory
equipment, this Gran Torino Sport is an appealing example of Ford's
classic SportsRoof design.
