Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse E55 AMG, 2003. Two owners, 107,725 km.
AMG was once a company that set up shop in an old mill in
Affalterbach, taking Mercedes models that were frankly already far
too good straight from the factory. One glance, one bit of
meddling, and suddenly there stood something that gave you shivers
down your spine as a motorway cruiser. In the nineties they were
officially absorbed by Mercedes, and from that moment the
floodgates were well and truly open. What follows is a string of
cars that look relatively calm on the outside, but hide an
unexpectedly mean streak under the bonnet. The reverse world of
tuning: don't shout, just bite.
The E55 AMG from this generation (the W211, for the insiders) is
perhaps the finest example of that. A tidy executive saloon in a
dignified shade of grey, proper lines, nothing to make you suspect
anything out of the ordinary is going on. Until you open the bonnet
and find a 5.4-litre V8 with a mechanical supercharger. A
supercharger, not a turbo, so the response is immediate, brutal and
utterly without patience. 476 bhp in a car that, if you must, will
happily ferry your mother-in-law to the garden centre. She won't
notice a thing, until you take the right-hand pedal a touch more
seriously and the entire front end of the car wants to fling itself
towards the horizon.
The story continues on our website, where the full file is kept as
well. 92 photographs including the underside. The service history,
scanned in full. Paint thickness measured panel by panel. The
original factory brochure to page through. A timeline from 18 March
2003 to today, with every owner and the mileage year by year in a
single graph.
Every car here follows the same route: first pre-market, then the
showroom, and finally the online auction on our own website. What
changes is the way you buy, not the location - once a car has
arrived, it stays with us in Katwijk. This one is in the showroom
and you are welcome to come and see it, no appointment needed. You
buy it here at a fixed price: no bidding, no waiting. Our showroom
in Katwijk, 30 km from Amsterdam Schiphol, is open Mon-Fri 9-18 and
Sat 10-17. Call ahead and it will be standing ready, with someone
free for you.
Within the EU no customs duty arises on this purchase. Registration
tax and registration costs in your own country are not included. We
supply the export documents and assist with the registration. The
price shown is the full price for collection in Katwijk. We arrange
insured door-to-door transport worldwide, cost quoted per
destination beforehand.

us what you are looking for - another Mercedes-Benz we can often
find through our network of marque specialists and collectors,
outside the listings.
Our showroom measures 6,000 m, with over 150 cars under one roof.
