Last of the full-size Oldsmobile convertibles. 57,068 miles. Two
owners from new, very original car including paint, top, and
interior. 350 cubic inch V8. Nicely optioned. A handsome luxury
cruiser that runs and drives great!?There's still nothing like a
'70s GM luxury car, and Oldsmobile had the recipe for the ultimate
luxury car ride down pat. 1975 was the last year for an Oldsmobile
convertible, but they still offered a great combination of comfort
and value, a proposition that remains true today. This 1975
Oldsmobile 88 Royale convertible is a great original survivor that
shows just 57,068 original miles and has just two long-term owners
who obviously loved it. The bright red finish is factory paint, and
original paint means no rust or botched bodywork hiding underneath,
and you can see just how straight this car is in the photos. The
doors swing closed with that big car THUNK and it's pretty clear
that this car has never seen winter weather, even though it has
lived its entire life in Ohio. Body gaps are just where the factory
put them, and while there are a few minor signs of use, most
notably some stone chips on the rockers, it would be a crime to
consider repainting this car. There's a great shine to the original
finish, the chrome and stainless trim remains bright, and the wide
rub strip along the flanks hasn't discolored with age. This car
obviously led a good life.?The white vinyl interior is likewise
100% original. Wide bench seats make this technically a 6-passenger
vehicle, but it's really happiest with four aboard where everyone
has plenty of stretch-out space. The door panels with their ornate
trim are in excellent condition, and black carpets prevent it from
being white overload. Options include working factory A/C, power
locks, a tilt steering column, and an AM/FM radio. Of note, the
dash pad isn't cracked, the carpets aren't faded, and the white
convertible top is original and fits beautifully thanks to a bit of
service work a few years ago. It stows easily with the touch of a
switch on the dash, and the car includes two white vinyl boots: the
original and a new one. The trunk is still outfitted with its
factory mat, a full-sized spare (which might just be original to
the car), and a complete jack assembly.?Oldsmobile's 350 cubic inch
'Rocket' V8 shares virtually zero parts with its Chevy counterpart,
and that means it has its own unique personality. If you've driven
an Oldsmobile, you know the familiar sound of an Olds powertrain,
and it's a pleasing soundtrack when you're out cruising. The car
has had routine maintenance over the years, but with only 57,000
miles on the clock, it has never needed anything major. There's a
new radiator up front, fresh belts and hoses, a recent tune-up, and
the A/C was serviced including a change to R134a refrigerant, so it
remains 100% ready to cruise. It starts easily, idles nicely, and
makes the kind of torque that gives the big ragtop a pleasing
demeanor in traffic. It's not a drag racer, but it's no slouch! Big
GM cars also received a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, which
is likely the most durable automatic gearbox ever invented. There
are 2.75 gears out back, making this a superb highway cruiser
that's just begging for a road trip. And, of course, on a car this
size, power steering and power disc brakes are part of the package.
It's not perfect and shiny underneath, but there's no rot or
structural issues, and a few newer parts, including an OEM-style
muffler, keep it in top shape. Steel wheels with factory wire
wheelcovers look right and carry 225/75/15 BFGoodrich whitewall
radials with lots of life left in them.?Extras include a set of
factory service manuals and some receipts from recent service
work.?There will never be cars like this again, and perhaps that's
why they're special. 1970s luxury yachts like this are growing in
popularity, and the combination of V8 power, a luxurious ride, and
plenty of space inside makes it easy to understand why. This
beautiful Olds is a great survivor in excellent condition, so
please look it over carefully, then check the price and give us a
call!?Harwood Motors always recommends and welcomes personal or
