Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 2001 Jaguar XKR
Silverstone Edition Coupe for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom.
Created to celebrate Jaguar's return to Formula One racing, the
Silverstone Edition is a limited-production version of Jaguar's
supercharged grand touring coupe. Finished in Platinum Silver over
Warm Charcoal leather with red stitching, this three-owner example
shows 77,916 miles, reported as actual. This as one of just 31
Silverstone Coupes delivered to the United States, making it a
particularly uncommon example of Jaguar's luxury performance
lineup.
Exterior:
Finished in Platinum Silver, the XKR features sleek body lines, a
long hood, sculpted rear quarters, and distinctive Silverstone
badging. Exterior appointments include body-color power mirrors,
chrome accents, integrated fog lamps, and special BBS 20-inch
five-spoke Jaguar alloy wheels wrapped in Falken Azenis FK510
performance tires. Cross-drilled brake rotors and Jaguar-branded
performance calipers complete its sporting appearance.
Interior:
The cabin features Warm Charcoal leather upholstery with red
contrast stitching, sport bucket seats, matching rear seating, and
high-gloss wood veneer trim. An exclusive Jaguar XKR Silverstone
inscription on the passenger-side dashboard identifies this limited
edition.
Additional features include power-adjustable heated front seats,
automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows and locks,
traction control, factory navigation, and a Jaguar audio system
with cassette and CD controls. The leather-wrapped steering wheel
features integrated audio controls, while the traditional analog
gauges include a 170-mph speedometer. The digital odometer shows
77,916 miles, reported as actual.
Engine:
Power comes from Jaguar's 4.0-liter DOHC 32-valve supercharged V8,
factory rated at 370 horsepower and 387 lb.-ft of torque. Equipped
with an Eaton roots-type supercharger, the AJ-V8 delivers strong
acceleration while maintaining the smooth character expected from a
Jaguar grand touring coupe.
Transmission:
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic
transmission, providing smooth shifts and comfortable highway
cruising.
Wheels and Tires:
The Silverstone Edition rides on special 20-inch five-spoke Jaguar
alloy wheels finished in silver and wrapped in Falken Azenis FK510
performance tires.
Suspension:
The XKR features independent front and rear suspension with coil
springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars. The Silverstone Edition
received sport-oriented suspension tuning, complementing its
supercharged V8 performance.
Brakes:
Stopping power comes from a Brembo four-wheel disc braking system
with four-piston calipers, ventilated rotors, and anti-lock
brakes.
Steering:
Power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering provides responsive
handling while maintaining the comfortable driving characteristics
of a luxury grand touring coupe.
Vehicle History & Documentation:
This XKR is reported to have a three-owner history and includes
Jaguar owner's literature. A previous Mecum Auctions listing
identifies it as one of 31 Silverstone Coupes delivered to the
United States. This production figure is presented as previously
reported rather than independently factory confirmed.
