This genuine 1968 Mustang Fastback is a factory X-Code 390ci V8 car, making it an excellent foundation for this exceptional tribute to Steve McQueen's legendary Mustang from the 1968 movie Bullitt. A Marti Report accompanies the vehicle.
Finished in the iconic Highland Green with a beautiful Black Deluxe interior, this Mustang has undergone a comprehensive, professional rotisserie restoration. Virtually every component has been rebuilt, restored or replaced, withattention to detail throughout.
The body underwent extensive professional metalwork, including replacement of the quarter panels, floor pans, frame rails and torque boxes. All work was carefully executed to a very high standard. The body and paint are absolutely immaculate, with a deep, mirror-like finish and excellent panel alignment. The glass, chrome bumpers and aluminum window trims are all in excellent condition.
The undercarriage is just as impressive as the exterior, meticulously restored and finished in traditional Ford Red Oxide, with beautifully detailed suspension, chassis and mechanical components. This is a true nut-and-bolt restoration, not simply a cosmetic makeover.
The period-correct 390ci V8 has been completely rebuilt to factory specifications, with the exception of an upgraded 4-barrel intake manifold and Holley carburetor. It is paired with a C6 automatic transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear axle featuring 3.25 gears and a limited-slip differential.
The beautifully restored Black Deluxe interior features both the center console and overhead console, along with the desirable Tilt-Away steering column. Power steering and power-assisted front disc brakes provide excellent driving convenience, while the 15-inch American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires complete the timeless Bullitt-inspired appearance.
