This 1929 OM 665 Superba bodied by Carrozzeria Moderna to a design by Mario Casaro, is one of them. The OM Register recognizes it as one of the very few cars still original in every detail, down to its body paint and interior materials.
Since its rediscovery in 2016, the car has started eight Mille Miglias (2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2025 and 2026), along with two Gran Premio Nuvolari and two Giro di Sicilia. OMs also enjoy an early starting position at the Mille Miglia, which adds to the appeal for the centenary.
In the summer of 2024, the owner and his co-driver drove it from Poggibonsi to the North Cape and back on Pirelli Collezione tyres, with a send-off from Pirelli’s Milan headquarters. They covered about 10,400 km in 28 days, roughly 190 hours at the wheel, with no motorways and no tyre changes. The trip included laps at Pirelli’s Sottozero proving ground in Swedish Lapland.
That’s amazing for a car that sat untouched in garages from 1960 until 2016. Only the convertible top and seat upholstery have been replaced, after the original leather was found beyond repair.

It includes discovery photographs, original period paperwork with its Trieste and Free Territory registration booklet, restoration records, North Cape press coverage, a sworn appraisal by a court-appointed expert, CSAI, ASI and FIVA passports, a current CRS, and its Mille Miglia Register listing.
The OM is offered at €1,250,000 and is located in Italy. It suits tall, robust drivers and co-drivers. The centenary is the obvious goal, but this is car built for a full season of rallies and long-distance touring.
