Approximately 1,000 Miles Offered for sale is this exceptional 1969
Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS, the recipient of an extensive,
open-checkbook restoration with approximately 1,000 miles of use
since completion. Finished in its factory-specified Tuxedo Black
(10-10) with contrasting White Rally Stripes and a beautifully
restored Black Houndstooth interior, this Camaro combines one of
the most desirable first-generation Chevrolet performance
configurations with outstanding attention to detail. Power comes
from a Chevrolet DZ-code 302 cubic-inch V8 paired with a 4-speed
manual transmission and performance-oriented 4.10 rear gears. The
engine carries a photographed September 25 DZ assembly stamping,
while the block displays the correct late-1969 3970010 casting
number. Most importantly, the original-style Fisher Body trim tag
carries the desirable X33 Z/28 identification, along with the D80
spoiler code, factory Tuxedo Black paint designation, and Black
Houndstooth interior trim code. Additional features include power
steering, power front disc brakes, a chambered exhaust system,
electronic-operated Rally Sport hideaway headlights, Endura front
bumper, front and rear spoilers, tilt steering column, and a
beautifully detailed undercarriage. The result is a thoroughly
restored example of Chevrolets legendary first-generation
performance Camaro, combining the unmistakable character of a high-
revving small-block with the attractive factory color and trim
combination. DZ-Code 302 V8 - Legendary Chevrolet Performance Under
the hood is Chevrolets legendary 302 cubic-inch small-block V8,
featuring the DZ engine application stamping associated with the
factory 1969 Z/28. Originally developed to comply with Sports Car
Club of America Trans- Am racing displacement requirements, the
Chevrolet 302 combined high-revving performance with an aggressive
solid-lifter personality. Factory-rated at 290 horsepower, the
original Z/28 engine became one of the most celebrated small-block
V8s of the muscle-car era. The photographed engine assembly
stamping reads V0925DZ This code identifies a Flint, Michigan V8
engine assembly dated September 25, with DZ designating the 1969
Camaro Z/28 302 application. The engine block also carries casting
number 3970010, a correct casting used in late-production 1969
Chevrolet 302 and 350 applications. Engine & Performance Highlights

Factory-Style Finishes and Components According to the owner, the
engine is operated using a mixture of high-octane pump gasoline and
VP racing fuel at an approximate 31 ratio. The appropriate fuel
mixture and octane requirements should be confirmed before
operation, particularly given the engines high-performance
configuration. The engine stamping, block casting, and assembly
date are consistent with the Camaros late-1969 build period.
However, the original engine-to-vehicle VIN derivative has not yet
been verified, so the engine is not being represented as confirmed
numbers-matching. Correct-Application Holley 4053 Carburetor The
engine is equipped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor carrying
photographed identification numbers associated with the Chevrolet
302 Z/28 application. Carburetor Identification Chevrolet Part

Chevrolet 3923289-DZ and Holley LIST-4053 identification numbers
correspond to the carburetor application used on 1968 and 1969 Z/28
models. The date code 865 identifies production during the fifth
week of June 1968. While the carburetor carries the correct Z/28
application numbers, its date precedes the vehicles late-1969
assembly by a substantial period, and its original installation on
this particular Camaro has not been established. Photographs of the
carburetor stampings are included with the vehicle documentation.
4-Speed Muncie Manual Transmission & 4.10 Rear Gears Backing the
high-revving 302 V8 is a traditional four-speed manual
transmission, delivering the driving experience that made the
original Z/28 legendary. The transmission is paired with a reported
4.10 rear axle ratio, providing aggressive gearing well suited to
the engines performance characteristics. Drivetrain Highlights

the strongest features of this Camaro is its surviving Fisher Body
identification tag, which carries the highly desirable X33
designation. The X33 code was used on Norwood-built 1969 Camaro
Z/28 models equipped with the Exterior Style Trim Group or Rally
Sport package. This distinction is particularly important because
it identifies the Z/28 application directly on the body tag, rather
than relying solely on exterior appearance, engine stampings, or
emblems. Trim Tag Information ST 69 12437 - 1969 Camaro V8 Sport

Sport Equipment D80 - Factory Spoiler Equipment The late-October
1969 body-build date is consistent with Chevrolets extended 1969
Camaro production run. The X33 designation is significant evidence
supporting this vehicles factory Z/28 identity, provided the tag is
verified as original to the body. The vehicle also features Rally
Sport-style hideaway headlights and trim, consistent with its Z/28
RS presentation. Comprehensive Open-Checkbook Restoration This
Camaro has benefited from an extensive restoration, with the owner
reporting that cost was not a limiting factor during the project.
Approximately 1,000 miles have been accumulated since completion.
Particular attention was paid to body alignment, paint quality,
interior presentation, correct factory-style finishes, and the
undercarriage. The restoration incorporated carefully selected
components intended to preserve the original appearance and
character of Chevrolets high-performance Z/28. Restoration
