2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo - One Of Only 30 Twin Turbo Examples
Produced, 480 Miles, Signed By Saleen
The Saleen S7 represents the vision of Steve Saleen, founder of
Saleen Inc., a company renowned for its performance enhancements
for Ford vehicles and its accomplishments in professional
motorsport. In August 2000, during the Monterey Historic Races,
Saleen unveiled an entirely new, American-built supercar that would
establish the company as a serious contender on the world stage.
Unlike Saleen's previous performance projects, the S7 was
engineered from the ground up, featuring a bespoke chassis,
mid-engine configuration, and an uncompromising focus on
performance.
The S7's competition pedigree was quickly established through the
development of the S7R, a purpose-built racing variant that
achieved success at some of the world's most demanding circuits,
including class victories at the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24
Hours of Le Mans. Over the following decade, the S7 platform
accumulated more than 100 professional racing victories, competing
at legendary venues such as Daytona, Nrburgring, Silverstone,
Imola, and Spa-Francorchamps. Its success on the track reinforced
the credentials of one of America's most ambitious supercar
projects.
In 2005, Saleen introduced the S7 Twin Turbo, elevating the already
formidable platform to an entirely new level of performance.
Retaining the all-aluminium V8 engine architecture of the naturally
aspirated model, the Twin Turbo featured a pair of Garrett
turbochargers delivering 5.5 psi of boost. Output increased
dramatically to 750 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 700 lb-ft of torque
at 4,800 rpm. Engine cooling was managed through a carbon-fibre
front intake feeding twin front-mounted aluminium radiators, while
Saleen's PowerFlash computer-controlled engine management system
and integrated coil-on-plug ignition helped optimize
performance.
Further enhancements extended beyond the powertrain. Revised front
and rear diffusers, together with an updated rear spoiler,
increased aerodynamic downforce by a claimed 60 percent. Power was
delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual
transmission and limited-slip differential, creating an
exceptionally engaging driving experience. With an estimated 0-60
mph time of just 2.7 seconds and a claimed top speed of 248 mph,
the S7 Twin Turbo ranked among the fastest production supercars of
its era.
The example offered here is an exceptional,
collector-owned-from-new Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, finished in striking
Metallic Black over a matching black leather and Alcantara
interior. Showing just 480 original miles, this remarkable American
supercar remains in showroom condition and represents an
increasingly rare opportunity to acquire one of the lowest-mileage
examples available. Further supporting its exceptional
preservation, the optional polished centre-lock alloy wheels retain
the original Michelin Pilot Sport tires fitted when the car left
the Saleen factory. With its dramatic styling, bespoke engineering,
and virtually untouched presentation, this S7 would make a
commanding centrepiece in any world-class supercar collection.
Today, the Saleen S7 is increasingly recognized as a modern
American supercar icon, distinguished by its limited production,
formidable performance, and significant international racing
accomplishments. Its engineering ambition and competition heritage
invite comparisons with legendary homologation and road-going
racing machines such as the Porsche 911 GT1, Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR,
and McLaren F1-automobiles that occupy an elite position in the
collector-car market. Combining Le Mans-winning lineage with
extraordinary performance and an unmistakably American identity,
the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo remains one of the most significant
supercars of its generation. With examples of this calibre becoming
increasingly difficult to find, this exceptionally low-mileage car
presents a compelling opportunity for the discerning collector.
