Named for Henry Ford's Dearborn estate, Ford's premium Fairlane line debuted alongside the original Thunderbird for the 1955 model year. These new top of the line offerings helped Ford record its best sales year since 1923. The style and drastic roofline was an instant hit with the crowds and people all over the U.S. Even with high production numbers, the Crown Victoria still remains to be a sought after vehicle for all collectors and finding a well done example is becoming challenging.
This '55 features its 272 CID V8 engine (FULLY rebuilt in April 2022) paired with an automatic transmission. This is a driver quality example that shows well from ten feet and exhibits signs of body filler as shown in our photos. Mechanically she starts right up, idles beautifully, runs down the road well and handles as it should. The engine compartment is very neat and tidy and shows the level of ownership from every angle. The chrome has been re-done. Highlights include a continental kit, whitewall tires, spotlight, new headliner, new door panels, and wheel skirts. Other recent upgrades include 12 volt conversion, new fuel pump, rebuilt carburetor, MSD ignition, and spark plugs and wires.
