GR Auto Gallery of Traverse City is pleased to present this
meticulously cared for 1951 Packard 250 Convertible finished in
Corona Cream over Burgundy and White leather for your
consideration. Coming out of long term ownership, this stunning
specimen has undergone a total professional restoration including
mechanicals not long ago. Originally a Santa Monica California
example this Packard starts, stops, runs and drives just as good as
it looks. The paint is amazing and the rest of the car is just as
tidy including the engine bay, interior, convertible top and trunk
along with the underside. The 327 cubic inch straight 8-cylinders
in these cars were not only powerful for the time but today as well
and are extremely quiet and smooth offering a very comfortable and
quiet cabin and ride. Appointments on this example include front
disc brakes, power convertible top, chrome cormorant hood ornament,
heater and concealed mount modern stereo.
Introduced midway through the 1951 model year, Packard's 250 model
shared its measurements with the entry-level 200 but used the 327ci
engine of the larger 300 models. The 250 was the only Packard
nameplate that offered both convertible and hardtop body styles for
1951, and a total of 4,640 units were built. Known for their smooth
ride, quality engineering, and understated elegance, Packards of
this era carried forward the brand's reputation for excellence. The
clean lines, generous proportions, and comfortable interior made it
a popular choice for buyers seeking classic American luxury in the
early postwar years.
