This 1937 Chrysler Royal sedan is an honest, rust-free survivor that spent more than 40 years in dry storage. It shows 60,960 original miles. I inherited it from a cattle rancher, and it has been shown at car shows in Kentucky.
The original flathead six starts, runs, and drives well. It idles smooth and steady with about 40 psi oil pressure, shows no blow-by with the oil cap off, and puts out no smoke at the tailpipe. Videos are included.
The interior has been freshened with tan upholstery, a matching headliner, and woodgrain trim, and the chrome door hardware is in nice shape. The underside, floors, and trunk are solid with only light surface rust. The serial number 6929036 is stamped on the right front door post.
To be upfront: the paint is older and would benefit from a refresh. The fuel gauge doesn't work right now because the sending unit needs replacing. The carburetor is a newer replacement, mounted on a heat insulator spacer to help prevent vapor lock. The rear of the trunk area has an old, repaired dent with touched-up paint (see photo).
$15,000. The car is in LaFayette, GA. Serious inquiries only, please. Contact by email through this listing.
