This 1983 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler is an exceptional example of Jeep's
distinctive long-wheelbase open-air 4x4, presented in beautifully
restored condition. Meticulously restored from the frame up, this
Scrambler has received a nut-and-bolt restoration with careful
attention to detail throughout. The body is laser-straight and
finished in stunning metallic burgundy red paint, complemented with
a fully refinished frame and restored suspension components.
Power comes from the original 258ci inline-six engine, upgraded
with modern Mopar fuel injection and a modern intake manifold.
Additional features include a Clifford valve cover, a Borla header,
and a new exhaust system. The engine block has been fully
refinished, with all accessories either replaced or restored. Power
is delivered through a 5-speed manual transmission, while power
steering adds convenience.
The chassis has been sandblasted and refinished, with the
suspension components restored and a moderate lift installed. Sway
bar extenders and slotted mag wheels fitted with 33-inch BFGoodrich
KM2 tires complete the rugged stance. Additional equipment includes
a Warn 8274 winch, custom front brush guard, and custom front and
rear bumpers. A full-size matching spare is mounted at the
rear.
The interior features custom front bucket seats along with second-
and third-row folding bench seats, providing versatile seating
options. A Bestop full removable soft top with removable side
curtain windows allows for open-air driving. All systems have been
restored or updated as part of the comprehensive build.
The CJ-8 Scrambler has earned a dedicated following for its unique
combination of CJ styling, open-air capability, and extended
pickup-style wheelbase. Examples restored to this level are
increasingly difficult to find. With its original 258 inline-six,
modern fuel injection, 5-speed manual transmission, and
comprehensive restoration, this Scrambler stands out as an
exceptionally well-executed example of one of Jeep's most
distinctive models.
