The 2013 Shelby GT500 is a spectacular car. It made a huge splash when introduced, highlighted by its 662hp Trinity engine and 200+ mph top end. This example takes things a step further with a whopping 800hp on pump gas and nice suspension improvements as well. Combine that with a desirable color combination and low mileage, and you’ve got a performance car to get plenty excited about.
This Shelby has accumulated 20,227 miles since new and has a clean history. It has been with two owners, both of whom we know and both of whom took proper care of the car. The black exterior with white stripes is in excellent condition and makes for a great combination on this body style. Note there is a removeable front license frame so nothing has been drilled. The black theme is extended with tinted windows (removeable film) and 20” Forgestar CF10 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The original aluminum SVT wheels are included.
Additional factory GT500 equipment includes the very effective Brembo brakes. The large rotors have been professionally drilled and slotted which not only looks great but also provides better cooling and performance. Other notable equipment includes Ford’s special aluminum hood with air extractors and a Redline Tuning QuickLIFT hood kit to eliminate the prop rod. The tail of the car is accented by the quad exhaust exit with 3.5” tips. The look speaks for itself.
And then there is the supercharged 5.8L motor factory rated at 662hp. This example has a few modifications that bump the power level to a reliable 800hp. It starts with a JLT Performance Super Big Air kit, PBH Performance inlet elbow, and Kenne Bell 168mm throttle body. You will also find JLT oil separators, a bolt-on supercharger overdrive pulley, and a Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump regulator / booster for improved fuel flow. A bolt-in X-pipe replaces the factory catalytic converter section (which is included). The entire setup was tuned by Lund Racing and dyno tested. All original parts are included and can be re-installed in a few hours if desired, including the tune.
Behind the engine sits the factory Tremec 6060 6-speed transmission followed by the unique GT500 one-piece carbon fiber driveshaft introduced for this model. While the factory 3.31 rear end ratio helped push this Mustang beyond 200 mph, this one has been changed to a more useable 3.73 ratio. Eibach lowering springs were also installed which give the GT500 a much better stance. The rear suspension uses billet lower control arms, Kenny Brown anti-squat traction brackets, and a BMR Suspension upper link and adjustable Panhard bar. It all offers improved performance while maintaining a comfortable ride.
The interior matches the exterior with charcoal leather buckets and white striping. It is in immaculate condition throughout. All the standard factory features are present, including a nice sounding Shaker audio system with Sirius satellite radio. Everything works as expected and there are no warning lights present. The factory shifter has been replaced with a modified Barton short-throw setup for much cleaner shifting. The car comes with two keyfobs, all manuals, and Ford informational brochures along with the window sticker, dyno sheet, SCT handheld tuner, and the previously mentioned original parts.
The 2013 GT500 is an outstanding performer from the factory, but this example is even better with a great collection of sensible modifications that can be reversed as desired. It will whip almost anything it meets while remaining reliable and easy to drive. It is in excellent condition throughout with a spotless history and few miles. If you’re in the market for this type of car, this one’s an easy decision.
