1968 GTO CONVERTIBLE
PHS DOCS, FACTORY 4-SPEED
This is one sharp GTO! It looks awesome in a factory color Solar
Red. Looking down both sides, it is straight. It has a glossy
finish and nice fitment. Appears to be all original sheet metal.
The doors close with ease. The windshield and glass are nice as
well. All of the windows roll up and down as they should. The
convertible top goes up and down nicely, fits nice and tight and
has a black boot to coordinate with the interior. It sits on a set
of 14x7 Pontiac Rally II wheels with correct lugnuts, center caps
and trim rings featuring a new set of Futura radial tires.
The engine compartment is nicely detailed with a 400 ci engine that
runs super strong. Some features include: factory Ram Air exhaust
manifolds, correct air cleaner, power front disc brakes, cadmium
plated brake booster with newer dual master cylinder and a 4-core
radiator. The firewall and inner fenders are finished in a satin
black.
The Black interior is in great shape. The front bucket seats have
been reupholstered and new foam was added. In between the front
bucket seats there is a 4 speed center console with a Hurst shifter
coming out of it with white shift knob. The door panels, sun visors
and rear view mirror are all in good shape as well. The interior
lights including the glove box light all work. Looking forward to
the dash, it is in great shape. A factory style tachometer was
added The lenses are clear and there is a small crack on top of the
dash pad. The heater controls slide with ease. It features a wood 3
spoke sport steering wheel. The rear bench seat has been
reupholstered to match the front bucket seats. The carpet, door
seals and weather stripping have been replaced. This GTO also
sports front and rear GM seatbelts.
Looking at the undercarriage, it looks to be all original sheet
metal. As I look up at the motor, it is clean as well as the M20
Muncie 4 speed manual transmission. It has a dual exhaust system
with Flowmaster mufflers that run all the way to the back of the
car. It has 3:90 running gears. The E-brake assembly is complete
and working.
The trunk is clean original metal and nicely detailed with a light
coat of spatter paint. The trunk area features a trunk mat, spare
tire and jacking assembly.
This GTO convertible is one clean car and a factory 4 speed
convertible to boot!
