1968 CHEVROLET CAMARO SS 396
375 HP, 4 SPEED, ROTISSERIE RESTORED
My first impression was this car has an exceptional body and paint
work! This Camaro SS was done right. It looks amazing in a factory
color Rallye Green with a black factory SS stripe running down the
nose and side of the car. Looking down the side of the arrow
straight body is satisfying thanks to the smooth contours and crisp
lines. The panels are very nicely aligned with gaps that are well
above average. The front and rear spoilers and SS hood louvers
really enhance the profile. Everything up front looks spotless, it
even has correct T3 headlights. The glass is in great condition.
The rubber seals and fuzzy strips have been replaced. The front and
rear bumpers and remaining trim pieces all have a nice shine. It's
equipped with stainless door ledge moldings too. It has the ideal
stance and is rolling on 15" Chevy Rally wheels with new trim ring
and flat center caps. They are wrapped in a set of newer black wall
radial tires.
The interior is completely refinished top to bottom using mostly
brand new parts! The seats have new cushions and upholstery and are
very comfortable. The headliner, dash pad, steering column, door
panels, handles, levers, visors, mirror, gauge bezel, center
console, shifter, glove box liner, rear shelf and carpeting are all
new. In between the bucket seats it has the optional 4 speed
console with a Hurst shifter coming out of it with white 4 speed
shift knob and gauge package. Looking forward at the dash it has
the optional Tic Toc Tach and correct 3 spoke wood steering wheel.
It also sports GM front and rear seat belts.
The engine compartment is very impressive with a 396ci/ 375hp
engine. It comes with a set of GM rectangular port heads and
Winters intake, dual feed Holley carb with factory correct fuel
line, factory exhaust manifolds, correct spring type battery cables
with a Delco battery topper, GM hoses with correct tower clamps and
a new cadmium plated power brake system with new dual master
cylinder. It also has a newer 4 core radiator and clutch fan with
correct fan shroud. The underside of the hood has correct hood
insulation, fender wells and firewall are all neatly painted satin
black.
The trunk compartment is all rust free and clean solid metal. The
underside of the trunk lid and jamb are nicely painted like the
exterior. It has new weather stripping, space saver spare tire,
jack assembly, lug wrench, trunk mat and a coating of spatter
paint.
Looking up at the floors they are all clean metal with no signs of
rust or patches, very impressive. Looking up at the motor and
Muncie 4 speed manual transmission is very clean. The suspension
looks to be all newer, springs and shocks were replaced. The leaf
springs out back also look fresh and have new hardware too. The
brakes have been completely rebuilt and even the emergency brake
assembly is hooked up and working. It has disc brakes upfront with
dual piston calipers. There is a newer 2.5" dual exhaust system
that dumps out behind the rear tires as they should. The gas tank
and all the lines were replaced. It also has a 12 bolt with 3:73
posi rear end. The floors have a nice black satin finish.
This Camaro is a show stopper! You will be hard pressed to find
another one like it!
