this G8 is a 6.2L V8 equipped with a Magnuson Heartbeat

The Pontiac G8 was introduced for the 2008 model year as a
rear-wheel-drive sport sedan based on GM's Australian-developed
Zeta platform and built by Holden in Australia. Offered as part of
Pontiac's effort to bring a more performance-oriented driving
experience to its lineup, the G8 quickly earned a following for its
powerful engine options, balanced handling, and practical four-door
design. The G8 GXP debuted for 2009 as the range-topping
performance model, featuring a 6.2L LS3 V8, upgraded suspension and
brakes, and the choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic
transmission. With its combination of American V8 power, rear-wheel
drive, and available manual transmission, the G8 GXP has become a
sought-after modern collectible, representing one of Pontiac's
final high-performance sedans before the brand was discontinued in
2010.
