For Sale: 1969 Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds in St. Louis, Missouri

Vehicle Description

Some muscle cars are legendary because of their horsepower. Others because of their rarity. But every once in a while, Detroit builds something that checks BOTH boxes!

ENTER THE 1969 HURST/OLDS 442!

This isn't your everyday Oldsmobile 442. This is a RARE, LIMITED-PRODUCTION HURST/OLDS, one of the most recognizable muscle machines to come out of the golden era of American horsepower!

According to factory production records, ONLY 906 HURST/OLDS HARDTOP COUPES WERE BUILT FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN 1969!

While other manufacturers were fighting for bragging rights on the street, Oldsmobile teamed up with legendary performance company Hurst to create something completely different - a limited-production, big-block-powered street machine that combined Oldsmobile luxury with serious muscle!

AND THIS ONE HAS THE HARDWARE TO BACK UP THE BADGE!

455 CUBIC INCHES OF OLDSMOBILE ATTITUDE!

Under the hood sits a PERIOD-CORRECT, REBUILT OLDSMOBILE 455 BIG BLOCK V8 featuring the 396021F block casting and an impressive list of performance upgrades!

Now, let's clear something up for the purists. This is not a numbers-matching engine, but it IS a period-correct Oldsmobile 455! That means you're still getting the proper old-school Oldsmobile big-block foundation, rather than some modern engine swap.

And this 455 hasn't been left stock!

An 800 CFM Quadrajet carburetor feeds an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and a set of Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum cylinder heads featuring 77cc combustion chambers, 218cc intake runners, 138cc exhaust runners, 2.150-inch intake valves, and 1.680-inch exhaust valves.

The valvetrain has been upgraded with Comp Cams Magnum 1.6-ratio roller rockers and Comp Cams Magnum 9.8-inch pushrods.

BUT HERE'S WHERE THIS BIG BLOCK GETS ITS ATTITUDE!

The engine features a Comp Cams Thumpr camshaft, part number 42-600-5, with the OL 279TH-107 grind.

The Thumpr series was designed to deliver that aggressive, old-school, loping camshaft sound that makes a big-block muscle car impossible to ignore!

An upgraded MSD HEI ignition system completes this performance-minded combination.

455 CUBIC INCHES. ALUMINUM HEADS. THUMPR CAM. PURE OLDSMOBILE MUSCLE!

BUILT TO HANDLE THE BIG BLOCK!

Backing up the rebuilt 455 is the legendary HEAVY-DUTY TURBO HYDRA-MATIC 400 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.

Out back sits an Oldsmobile-specific 12-bolt-style rear axle, equipped with an Anti-Spin limited-slip differential and aggressive 3.91:1 gears.

The 1969 Hurst/Olds represents one of the most exciting collaborations of the muscle-car era.

And while this particular example is not numbers matching, it retains the proper period-correct Oldsmobile 455 engine configuration, now rebuilt with performance upgrades.

You've got the legendary 1969 Hurst/Olds styling and heritage, a rebuilt, period-correct 455ci Oldsmobile V8 loaded with performance upgrades, a heavy-duty TH400 transmission, and an aggressive 3.91-geared limited-slip rear end.

THIS ISN'T SOME COOKIE-CUTTER MUSCLE CAR!

If you've been searching for something more exclusive than the typical Camaro, Chevelle, or Mustang, this 1969 Hurst/Olds 442 deserves a serious look!
