Upon debut, the 2016 Boxster Spyder was the lightest Porsche
available, and naturally the Stuttgart manufacturer paired it with
the largest and most powerful engine fitted to their mid-engine
sports car. Shoehorned in was a 3.8-liter flat-six making 375
horsepower, mated to an engaging six-speed manual transmission, the
combination of which saw the creation of the ultimate variant of
the Boxster line.
To achieve its featherlight curb weight of 2,899 pounds, the
Boxster went on a diet. Aluminum doors and trunk lid were fitted in
place of the steel items, and the addition of unique lightweight
20-inch wheels shaved 66 pounds when compared to the standard
Boxster. The interior is full of lightweight components and
features carbon fiber bucket seats clad in Alcantara with red
stitching and accents, the deletion of the air conditioning system
(which could be added back as a no cost option), while the
traditional door handles were replaced by simple pull straps.
Perhaps most famous of all the lightweight measures was an
intricate manual fabric convertible top that further reduced the
weight compared to the electric top by 24 pounds.
This Boxster Spyder is finished in Pure White, a crisp, clean color
that highlights the car's low, purposeful lines and its connection
to Porsche's legendary lightweight sports car heritage. Rarity adds
to its appeal: only 829 Spyders were sold in North America, making
it a scarce find for collectors and enthusiasts. Even more
remarkable, this particular example displays just 7,192 miles on
the odometer at the time of cataloging, marking it as a true
low-mileage example. The Boxster Spyder is accompanied by a clean
CARFAX Vehicle History Report detailing regular services and
emissions inspections, and noting that it was sold as a Porsche
Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle as recently as March 2026.
Whether it's the purity of a classic roadster or simply reinforcing
Porsche's "driver first" ethos, the Boxster Spyder delivers an
engaging performance that harkens back to lightweight racers of the
1950s. With its low mileage, low production numbers, and
uncompromising focus on lightweight performance, this Pure White
example is a genuine opportunity to own a future classic.
