Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe
for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. Originally built at Ford's
Metuchen, New Jersey assembly plant as a C-code 289 V8 Mustang,
this classic pony car has been upgraded with a new
performance-built 347ci stroker V8, four-speed automatic
transmission, custom exterior styling, and a refreshed black
interior. Finished in Presidential Blue Metallic with contrasting
black accents, this Mustang combines classic first-generation
styling with modern performance upgrades.
Exterior:
The Mustang is finished in Presidential Blue Metallic with a
matte-black performance hood featuring dual scoops and racing-style
hood pins. A matching matte-black trunk lid, custom black grille,
updated headlights, and auxiliary front lighting give the coupe an
aggressive appearance. Chrome bumpers, bright trim, and classic
Mustang taillights retain its vintage character.
Interior:
Inside, the Mustang features a black interior with upgraded bucket
seats, a matching rear bench, black carpeting, and headliner. A
wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of the
factory-style instrumentation, including a 120-mph speedometer.
Additional features include a chrome floor-mounted automatic
shifter, updated stereo system, aftermarket speakers, and dashboard
air-conditioning vents. The five-digit odometer shows 61,843 miles,
true mileage unknown (TMU).
Engine:
Power comes from a newly built Ford 347ci stroker V8, based on a
1974 Ford small-block. Build specifications include a SCAT 347
stroker rotating assembly, ProMaxx performance cylinder heads,
Speed-Pro performance camshaft, 1.7-ratio roller rockers, hardened
pushrods, double-roller timing chain, and new oil pump. Additional
equipment includes Ford Racing 347 Stroker valve covers, an
aluminum intake manifold, four-barrel carburetor, upgraded ignition
components, tubular headers, and an aluminum radiator. Polished
shock tower bracing and a blue-painted engine block complete the
engine compartment.
Transmission:
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic
transmission featuring a Ford Racing-branded transmission pan.
Wheels and Tires:
The Mustang rides on black five-spoke aftermarket wheels with
polished lips, wrapped in Falken Ziex radial tires.
Suspension:
The Mustang retains its independent front suspension with coil
springs and control arms, along with a solid rear axle supported by
leaf springs. Rear traction bars have been added to help control
axle movement under acceleration, while shock tower bracing
provides additional reinforcement up front.
Brakes:
Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc brakes with
a firewall-mounted brake booster and master cylinder.
Undercarriage:
Underneath, the Mustang features tubular headers feeding a dual
exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, rear traction bars, and a
red-painted rear differential center section. The underside has a
dark protective finish with visible signs of normal use and some
surface oxidation on exposed components.
The 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe will be sold on a clean Arizona title.
