The Shelby Cobra is one of the most recognizable and celebrated
performance cars in automotive history. Originally developed
through the collaboration of American racing driver and
entrepreneur Carroll Shelby and British automaker AC Cars, the
Cobra combined lightweight British roadster construction with
powerful American V8 engines. Introduced in the early 1960s, the
Cobra quickly established a reputation for its remarkable
power-to-weight ratio, aggressive styling, and success in
competitive racing. The 1965 model year is especially associated
with the legendary 427 Cobra, which brought wider bodywork, a more
muscular appearance, and significant performance enhancements to
the lineup. Today, Cobra-style roadsters remain highly sought after
by enthusiasts for their timeless design, raw driving experience,
and connection to an iconic era of American motorsports. This
Factory Five MK2-built example captures that spirit while offering
a thoughtfully equipped, turn-key package for the road.
