This 1970 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am clone is a true throwback to
the street machines and hot rods that ruled the roads during the
1970s. Built at the Van Nuys, California assembly plant in 1970, it
has spent most of its life in the dry climates of California and
Arizona. With the look, attitude, and sound of that unforgettable
era, this Firebird delivers the kind of driving experience that
will take you straight back to your high school days.
Under the hood is a rebuilt 454 cubic-inch big-block V8 paired with
a three-speed automatic transmission. A Holley Sniper EFI system
and MSD ignition have been added to improve starting, drivability,
and overall performance, while headers and a full dual-exhaust
system give it the strong, aggressive exhaust note that a vintage
big-block street machine should have. It runs and drives great and
delivers plenty of old-school muscle car personality.
One of the features that really sets this Firebird apart is its
custom Chameleon-painted graphics. The car features custom stripes
and flames along with the famous Trans Am-style hood featuring a
painted Firebird graphic. The color-shifting Chameleon finish gives
the graphics a unique appearance as the light and viewing angle
change, adding even more personality to an already
attention-getting car.
The Firebird rides on chrome 15-inch Rallye II steel wheels wrapped
in new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, giving it a classic muscle car
stance that looks right at home on this vintage Pontiac. A
front-to-rear chassis strengthening brace helps stiffen the body
and complements the car's old-school street-machine character.
Inside, the car features its factory black vinyl seat interior
along with the iconic three-spoke Trans Am steering wheel. The
simple, purposeful interior fits the personality of the car
perfectly and keeps the experience true to the muscle car era.
This is not a factory-correct restoration or a modernized restomod.
It is an old-school Trans Am-style street machine built to capture
the excitement, sound, and attitude that made the muscle car era so
much fun. If you remember the good old days-or simply wish you had
been there-this 1970 Firebird will take you right back every time
you turn the key.
