The 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is one of the defining American
performance cars of its era, combining a naturally aspirated
427-cubic-inch V8 with lightweight construction, track-focused
engineering, and everyday usability. This well-documented,
two-owner example is finished in Black over Titanium Gray Leather
and features the desirable 2LZ Preferred Equipment Group, an
upgraded performance exhaust, a Diablo ECU tune, and chrome
C7-generation ZR1-style split five-spoke wheels.
The Z06 name originated in 1963 when Corvette engineer Zora
Arkus-Duntov developed a competition-oriented package for serious
enthusiasts. Revived in 2001, the Z06 evolved into a dedicated
high-performance model, reaching new heights with the
sixth-generation C6 introduced for 2006. Power comes from the
hand-built 7.0-liter LS7 V8, factory-rated at 505 horsepower and
470 lb-ft of torque. Featuring dry-sump lubrication, lightweight
internal components, and a 7,000-rpm redline, the LS7 delivers
exhilarating naturally aspirated performance through a six-speed
manual transmission. A Z06-specific suspension, wide staggered
tires, and powerful six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes
complete the package.
The 2LZ Preferred Equipment Group enhances the Z06 with heated
leather sport seats, driver memory settings, a power telescoping
steering column, premium Bose audio, steering-wheel-mounted audio
controls, a universal home remote, and additional comfort and
convenience features. The Black exterior provides a timeless,
aggressive appearance, complemented by the Titanium Gray Leather
interior. Chrome 18-inch front and 19-inch rear C7-generation
ZR1-style split five-spoke wheels add a distinctive modern touch to
the car's muscular C6 proportions.
This Corvette has had just two owners from new. The second owner
acquired it in June 2014 with only 1,400 actual miles and enjoyed
it regularly during Missouri's limited driving season, adding
approximately 32,000 miles over the following 12 years. Throughout
this period, regular and recommended servicing was performed at
renowned Schwarz Ltd. Maintenance included annual springtime
full-synthetic engine oil and filter changes, brake fluid flushes
approximately every 7,000-8,000 miles, periodic engine air and
cabin filter replacements, and all required safety and emissions
inspections.
Notable service and upgrade history includes:
• May 2017 - 13,539 miles: Installed Kooks headers, Green X-pipe,
QESi performance catalytic converters, three-inch stainless-steel
exhaust piping, and Borla S-Type mufflers. Additional work included
a coolant flush, brake fluid flush, engine oil and filter change,
new battery, and wiper blades.
• October 2021 - 24,440 miles: Replaced the rear main crankshaft
seal to remedy a slight oil leak; installed a new clutch kit and
clutch slave cylinder at the same time.
• October 2022 - 27,260 miles: Installed chrome C7-generation
ZR1-style wheels with new tires and completed a Diablo ECU flash
tune, increasing reported output to 542 horsepower and 491 lb-ft of
torque.
• November 2023 - 28,265 miles: Installed a new clutch master
cylinder kit and remote bleeder line, replaced the engine oil pan
gasket, flushed the brake fluid, and performed a four-wheel
alignment.
• April-June 2026 - 32,051 miles: Installed a new battery, changed
the engine oil and filter, flushed the brake fluid, and replaced
the cabin air filter.
Today, the odometer reads 33,187 miles, and the Corvette continues
to perform outstandingly in every respect.
This Z06 comes with both original keys, a framed original window
sticker, production build sheet, owner's manuals, a clean CarFax
report with no reported damage history, and a comprehensive service
history dating back to June 2014.
Combining the legendary LS7 V8, six-speed manual transmission,
upgraded exhaust, performance ECU tune, and distinctive chrome
wheels, this 2008 Z06 offers an engaging blend of American muscle
and precision engineering. Its attractive color combination,
desirable 2LZ equipment, two-owner history, and extensive
maintenance documentation make it an especially appealing example
for the enthusiast seeking a well-cared-for C6 Z06 with tasteful
performance upgrades.
