top-oiler block, a 4.25-inch stroke Eagle crankshaft, Eagle H-beam
connecting rods, and forged Speed Pro pistons. The engine build
sheet also lists a custom-ground solid-lifter camshaft from
Southern Automotive, Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum cylinder
heads, and a Blue Thunder aluminum dual-quad intake manifold. Two
Holley 600 CFM carburetors supply fuel, while an MSD Pro Billet
distributor and Accel spiral-core plug wires handle ignition
duties. The combination creates an impressive collection of
performance-oriented components beneath the hood.
Additional engine details include a listed 10.2:1 compression
ratio, Harland Sharp aluminum roller rockers, an Edelbrock
double-roller timing chain, and a Melling high-volume oil pump. An
eight-quart Canton oil pan adds oil capacity, while an original
Ford-style windage tray is listed among the engine's internal
components. A Ram high-performance clutch and pressure plate
connect the engine to a Ford Galaxie Toploader 4-speed manual
transmission with a 1 3/8-inch big-spline input shaft, adding to
this Galaxie's traditional muscle-car character.
Inside, the Black vinyl interior maintains the classic styling of
the Galaxie 500 XL, with a spacious cabin that reflects Ford's
